This is one of the most boring major characters in the entirety of this game. Because at least Nanamo had to deal with Monetarist conflict that mattered at the time, at least Lyse had to acknowledge she grew up sheltered from the Ala Mhigan suffering and didn't understand what she was getting herself into, at least G'raha Tia went through tons of shit and technical heroic suicide to see things through before he became a cockgarbler. Wuk is just flat. They try to give her dimension by acting like she has depths, but the depths are self-resolved with a minor pep talk after hours of seeing her do the same thing over and over.

We also see Sphene literally create it and destroy it like computer data somehow. They can use electrope to make infinite food and feed and house everyone with a perfect welfare state.Alexandria is essentially more populous than the rest of the world combined. They have infinite resources and the most advanced technology in the world by far, and unlike the first, they can just walk to the source through a gate. Their immortality technology (the regulators) are totally undisturbed by the end of the MSQ and can, in all likelihood, just be brought outside or reversed-engineered by someone like Nero or Cid in a day.How does a place like this coexist in a narrative with Doma and Garlemald who have serious worldbuilding concerns over housing, resources, and refugees? How does this just not completely break everything by existing at all?

The story is poorly paced and feels like two different expansions poured into one. The entire expansion could have been a really in-depth tournament arc with struggles, betrayal, and genuine growth for Wuk Lamat.The second half could have been an epic like Shadowbringers with Sphene paralleling Emet.They failed on both fronts. Though I have to say that the Lv. 99 trial is the best trial I've experienced in the entire game. They nailed Zarool Ja's menacing atmosphere and made him an absolute sociopath lunatic.And the gameplay is the best its ever been. It's finally no longer a snoozefest.Overall I have positive feelings about this expansion, especially because we're getting a new Field Operations zone with this level of gameplay design. Can't wait.
