Just to give you an idea, in the prologue level you'll come upon a door you must unlock to progress. You can't use your lockpicks on the door - does that mean you have to go back and find a key? No, it means there's a 2 pixel lockbox on the stair bannister opposite the door that you have to pick (which of course takes like 2 minutes for no reason).
