OLED screens revived my passion for gaming
>>

How so? HDR is usually awfully implemented in video games and nowadays it all about upscaling that give you a shit smeared image in motion instead of sharpness.
Unless you exclusively play games set in space
>>
>>681488884
the most overrated meme tech i've ever used
>MUH CONTRAST
you literally do not notice contrast except for full black screens right next to each other. contrasted highlights cause bloom, raising the surrounding blacks regardless of panel technology
>MUH COLORS
OLED gets absolutely mogged by top end IPS panels even without QD enhancement. QD-IPS and QD-VA just shred even the most expensive oled panels

miniLED is so much better even with pathetically low (<2000) zone counts. when they can finally cram 10k or even 100k zones in a backlight, the OLED meme will end forever

same here. if a game doesn't have native HDR and doesn't work with RTX HDR/auto HDR I'm disappointed.
every time I boot a game up in HDR on the OLED I'm blown away.

Yes we know.

******It isn't new

TCL will unironically save VA, they have fast VA with little to no smearing and are working on a filter to improve VA viewing angles.
LG is currently saving IPS with their "IPS Black" panels and returning to A-TW polarizers

>they have fast VA with little to no smearing
I've been hearing this, for what, the past 5 years? every time I see a new VA panel in a shop showcase I can still see the black smearing
>>
Condoms revived my passion wahmen.

Handhelds revived mine. Handheld form factor is simply godly.

Faster response times across the board than 99.999% of IPS and even TN
Downsides: scanlines, VRR flicker
and they stopped selling them for some reason
>>
>like to watch horror movies and play horror games at night
What panel should I buy?
>>
>>681495382
Same. I play Steam games on my Deck and retro games on my chinkhelds.
Ordered an Anbernic RG556 a few days ago, looking forward to play PS2 games in OLED glory.

OLED looks best in a dark room. I'm happy with mine but honestly if you're watching something during the daytime you kinda need blackout curtains to see things decently in darkly lit scenes. I hear QLED is better for that since it's brighter but eh, OLED seems better overall to me.
>>
OLED changed my life. Unironically.
>>
>>681488884
Isnt OLED still have burn in issues ?
>>
>>681499382
People will tell you that it doesn't, but it does. I still like using them, but you have to come to terms with the fact that they are not a forever-monitor. Using it as a normal TV/console screen is fine though, unlikely to get any burn-in with that.
>>
>>681499665
Well with that price i should get forever-monitor. Ill just stick with IPS.
>>
>>681492082
HDR looks fantastic in video games.
HDR over display port looks dogshit though, do it over HDMI 2.1 and it's much better.
>>
>>681499831
That's fine, if you are concerned about longevity that is way that I would go. The monitor I am using cost $1600, if I had gone with the LCD version it would have cost $800 and probably would last many years longer. I'm good with this though, in three or four years I'd probably want a new monitor anyway.

Yes, if $500 every 5-7 years is too expensive for you, then you should buy a $79 sceptre monitor from Amazon.
>>

VRR flicker is a problem across the board, it's just a matter of how low the framerate needs to be before it kicks in. My OLEDs have that issue.
