Do people really replay a game multiple times in a row for maybe 5 minutes of extra cutscenes?

did the wrong ending in half-life?

i feel like looking up the other endings makes the one i got feel less unique and like i didn't really make a choice.
it remains a cool mystery. and i can come back to it in the future and perhaps get a different one

Only if I really enjoy the game nowadays.
Back in the day the dearth of games made any kind of replayability huge.

The only games I've played that do this either have a lot of exclusive content for each route (Nier Automata, 999/VLR/ZTD, Undertale), or you were supposed to replay the game anyway, with or without alternate endings (like Dark Souls). For the former you would ruin your experience if you just looked up the ending, for the later I guess there is no harm other than making your next playthroughs shittier.
