pure "safe" sequel to a kids movie.Same story beats, same emotions the viewer is expected to feel (real ironic, that), same visuals. Like, EXACT same visuals. everything inside riley's head aside from the beliefs basement is from inside out 1, just with more sparkles or more shit stacked on top (literally)even without the diversity golem looming overhead, they'd probably have put a hockey player in a hijab anyways just to break up the visual monotony. Inside out 1 kept things fresh and dynamic by having it start with the huge changes of childhood from birth to age 10, and they kept going back to those memories. Inside Out 2 had none of that. Everything was riley and the hockey folks, most of which are developing girls like riley, shit, even her parents were absent from most of the film especially compared to the first one.very boring, honestly. Entirely propped up by the voicework and banter from the emotions, which in itself is held back by the anxiety character's one-note presence as a well-meaning antagonist
