Why are video games the worst medium when it comes to "following the brand but not the artist?" Like why do gamers expect Blizzard, Bioware, Konami, etc. to keep making good games when the dudes people for making those good games are all gone?

It's harder to track because so many people work on them. It takes more than a good director to make a good video game, as many a Kickstarter spiritual successor has shown.
