>Booming Voice of God: HALT! IGNORE OVER HALF THE GAMEPLAY IN THE ENTIRE GAME! STOP PUTTING CANDLES ON EMPTY STANDS!
Do you obey God's command? this is literally God by the way if you never played the game.
>>
god is a shota?
>>
the original Japanese version of SMT3 didn't have
>any of the Fiend boss battles
>several demons like Metatron and Black Frost
>the entirety of the Labyrinth of Amala
>the True Demon Ending
and of course
>Dante from CAPCOM's Devil May Cry 2™

so it really doesnt matter since it is all bonus content in the first place
>>
>>683691738
It was cool though
>>
>>683691738
black frost is a main game boss akchually
>>
>>683691738
that's because people just went to grind spots like the tower near assembly of nihilo with lvl 35 easy mobs and power leveled there for hours until next spot to clear the game
the fiends made it so you cant progress past lvl 15/20 without them skill checking you
>>
>>683691431
>Do you obey God's command?
No because I don’t speak Japanese and have no idea what he’s on about
>>
>>683691431
Metaton isn’t god. He’s called the voice of god, but he isn’t literally. More like god’s spokesman.
>>
>>683691431
>original localisation calls them candelabras
>HD Remaster calls them menorahs
How did they get away with it?
>>
>>683691431
>this is literally God by the way if you never played the game.
eeerm, that's not literally God, it's Metatron talking to the Demi-Fiend, I think you're the one that haven't played it
>>
>>683691431
How do I get past Matador on hard mode. I cant find a good spot to grind up an Inugami until it evolves and learns Fog Breath. The sewers give next to no exp and my typical grinding spot (with principalities and archangels i think) is just way too brutal on hard mode.
>>
>>683699709
>grinding
use buffs retard
>>
>>683699926
this is the point in the game where availabity of buffs is limited. once i have the ability to fuse a more diverse set of demons i can crack the game wide open. can you recommend a demon or two thats available at this point in the game that will get me past him. also, if you havent played nocturne on hard, dont underestimate it. makes smt v hard look like persona.
>>
>>683692221
>the fiends made it so you cant progress past lvl 15/20 without them skill checking you
The fiend encounter is skippable by simply pressing no.
>>
>>683700792
Nozuchi has rakukaja and trivializes the fight entirely. If you were actually looking at what demons were available and not just looking for force nulls you'd have noticed already.
>>
>>683701106
Its not like that lol. My go to for the past 20 years has been the Makami with fog breath, so Im just stuck in my ways I suppose. Is rakukaja really enough though? Id imagine youll be missing constantly, but I guess the tankiness may be enough to pull me through. Ill give it a shot.
>>
>>683701106
nozuchi doesn't have sukukaja, bicorn does.
Unless he uses fusion.
>>
>>683701106
>>683701351
thanks for the good advice ill look at their movesets and availability of the two demons in my old double jump guide and go from there. it can be tough to shift mindsets for hard mode because it feels so different and requires strategies that are very different from what im used to on normal mode. i also find the starting stages of hard mode jrpgs to be the toughest parts since you access to certain skills and items is very limited. if you guys enjoy hard mode nocturne, i cant recommend hardtype pokemon mods enough. i think theyre done by someone called diovento.
>>
>>683701351
Good thing I said rakukaja then, retard.
>>
>>683699709
If you get up to level 18, try to fuse Uzume. She's nulls force and has Media (partywide heal), so she does really well against Matador, especially since you can make her with just Pixie+Angel.
>>
>>683702135
any decent place to grind? i dont want to fight Isoras for hours.
>>
>>683700968
Matador and Hell Biker prevent you from advancing the story.
>>
>>683699709
>How do I get past Matador on hard mode.
Your team must have
rakukaja(hua po/nozuchi)
sukukaja(preta/aquans/bicorn)
sukunda(choronzon/MC learned from iyomante)
media(inugami/uzume)
Your demons being weak to force doesn't matter that much as long one of you null force, most likely MC with hifumi magatama. With rakukaja x4 and media you can outpace mazan damage, sukukaja x4 and sukunda x3 will even out playing field for dodges. Matador has two phases, after 500hp his moveset becomes a lot more dangerous so try to finish it as quickly as possible.
If you know exactly what you're doing matador is very doable at level 15, becomes easy at 18 and complete joke at 20.
>>
>>683702286
stop wasting your time grinding you can clear him at level 12
>>
>>683701351
>>683702135
havent played in a while and just checked. im level 16 and already have a bicorn with sukunda actually

>>683702535
you beat him at level 12 on hard?

>>683702482
i have all of these except media. i think my best best is leveling up my inugami once to get him media and maybe fusing that to a different demon. wheres a good stop to level him up?
>>
>>683702482
>luck out early and Preta joins the party
>Sukukaja innate and Fog Breath from level 8
That playthrough, I won the game before it even began.
>>
>>683702757
>except media
if you're willing to savescum you can skill upgrade dia to media, get a demon within 1 fight worth of xp of leveling up save your game get an encounter and level up that demon there's about 1/6 chance a demon will ask for a skill change and you have 50% chance to upgrade any upgradable skill and dia is one of them but this could be time consuming if your luck is bad it's kinda annoying honestly
>wheres a good stop to level him up?
level 26 when he learns recarm as makami you can keep him for the entire rest of the game in your stock, makami never falls off
>>
>>683702757
Multiple times, defense and evasion boosts are literally all you need, not even media is necessary. People wasting literal hours grinding to 18-20 for such a simple fight never fails to blow my mind.
>>
>>683697175
I played the original in Japanese and they're called menorahs there.
>>
>>683702976
>literal hours grinding to 18-20
If you use riberama and farm isoras it takes less than an hour to go from 13 to 20 at which point isoras start giving you reduced xp due to level difference.
>>
>>683702961
>makami never falls off
but why would you use him instead of le spooky skeleton with a bell?
>>
>>683702961
Sorry I meant spot. That said, I think im good with the advice given. I can get inugami to 14 in like 30 mins of grinding Isoras for media and fuse up a choronzon for sukukaja

>>683702976
20 is definitely overkill

>>683703121
does riberama increase the number of enemies per encounter? this is the only spot in the game i ever grind on normal. i somehow got to the final boss as a 9 year old lol.
>>
>>683703193
Because makami stays in the stock and resurrects dead demons with recarm or he's incredibly useful in fights where fire immunity is relevant like white rider and surt and his debuffs with rakunda and fog breath are relevant the entire game. There's no reason to ever get rid of makami but you could upgrade to horus or lakshmi if you want bigger MP pool for some reason.
Makami and daisoujou are not competing at anything they're different demons for different use cases.
>>683703334
>Sorry I meant spot.
Just grind isoras it is the spot with the highest encounter rate in the entire game.
>does riberama increase the number of enemies per encounter?
No but it roughly triples the encounter rate and significantly increases follow up encounters, you grind so much faster with riberama it makes a massive difference.

Canon name.

If you can't customize their appearance, you may as well go canon name.

I will put every single candle on the stand, then dab on Lucifer, walk away and go revert the world to before the Apocalypse instead.

>This is literally God by the way if you never played the game

No it's not. It's one of the avatars of a rogue divine Janny on a massive ego trip that has spanned tens of thousands of years. The real god is an anomalous being without a physical form who is simply too important and too busy developing reality to directly interact with the multiverse on a personal level except in one weird-ass side game that no one has ever played.
>>
>>683717412
At that rate you may as well go with Demijah Fiendstein
>>
Was Metatron still serving the Great Will in V like he was in III? I never quite decided myself. He's still defending the Empyrean and he says he's there to test you. So that means he is serving the Great Will? If so why did the big guy send Mastema to scream at you instead of him?
>>
>>683691738
There's a reason they put so much stuff in the Maniax version, the original got a lukewarm reception. The additions feel essential unlike most Atlus re-releases.
>>
>>683719357
>the original got a lukewarm reception
It's almost like japs had standards from actually having played the SMT games during their golden age and didn't enjoy the huge steaming shit Nocturne took on most classic megaten mechanics
Which is rather funny because NINE actually felt like a love letter to SMT despite being on the >XBOX and having definitely 1/10 the budget of Nocturne
>>
>>683719357
>The additions feel essential unlike most Atlus re-releases.
Manaix didn't add that much in retrospect though. It was one large longer dungeon with lore dumps that didn't really matter to the main story.
