Gamers won

If all this AI investment does anything it will be funding and pressuring graphics card companies to make better and better cards, which is can only be good for gamers.

There's no competition. AMD's cards currently can't keep up with Nvidia when it comes to AI shit. There's no reason for Nvidia to be price competitive when the competition is nonexistent.

AMD's top tier Aldebaran hardware, which you can't buy, is really good for AI on GNU/Linux based OSes. That's the reason why you can't buy it, there's no reason to sell it at a discount to gamers on obsolete platforms.
The higher tier cards you can buy are also pretty good, but the companies buying hardware specifically for AI aren't putting in big orders for consumer tier cards.

The main risk is that there is so much demand for AI hardware, that Nvidia and AMD will be catering to AI buyers more than gamers. Nvidia may even exit the consumer market as SOC hardware takes over.
