Gamers deserve as much respect as partakers of any other hobby have. Gamers are still looked down upon for no good reason. Gamergate was the worst thing ever to happen to gamers, and now gamers as a group are considered permanently tainted. Well, I refuse to let all gamers be defined by bigotry. A gamer is just a person who plays games, full stop. We're all gamers here and we all deserve the same respect other hobbyists get.

I think what the real dividing line between gaming and hobbies that gain respect are the fact that gaming isn't quite a productive hobby. It doesn't produce anything, it's just pure consumption. But stuff that is still pure consumption still gets more respect, just because its not gaming. This is just so unfair.

You are a gamer, take pride in your kind. We are all united together as one. Whether games are art or not, they deserve respect and to not be just seen as toys.

Many spaces online continuously mock gamers and consider us obsolete. Well, we aren't. We're going to take back whats ours, the respect we deserve, and make everyone see us as equals to any other hobby.
