>mouse starts double clicking because i spilled water on it
>swap out the switch
its like a brand new mouse
why isnt this feature standard on all mice?
>>
>/v/ shilled for zowie mouses but wont ever consider buying a mouse that could last forever
really makes u think
>>
If you do anything but buy a Logitech g403 every couple of years when the rubber wears down you are a massive retard
>>
>>683760572
my g403 is literally in the asus chakram box because the wheel got corroded and the metal flaked off
the 403 is pretty good but it simple cannot compete with removable switches literally saved me from buying another mouse
>>
mice will pretty much never have this feature because razer would go out of business

Mice are generally too cheap to make modular. I'm using a Deathadder V3. If it had replaceable parts, it wouldn't be worth the cost and time to fix it.
>>
The scroll wheel click on my chinkshit MMO mouse is shitting itself, how do I fix it?
>>
>>683759238
>wow, that dude repaired his device instead of buying a new one?
>that's smart
>stop him from doing that
>>
>>683760987
mice aren't cheap anymore nigga
a razer naga cost like 200$
50$ is still too much desu
>>
>>683761008
you'd need to take it apart and buy a new wheel
but if it's cheap enough you might as well just get a new one
>>
>>683761075
$50 for a year or two of use is not bad at all. I've had this one over a year and it's still solid.
>>
>>683761132
It doesn't have any screws or anything so I dunno how I'm supposed to open it up, short of just jamming a screwdriver in there and prying the whole thing apart, but I suspect I wouldn't be able to put it back together if I did. I remember hearing of people fixing double clicking mice just by cleaning the switches so I was hoping someone had some sort of tip for how I could do that. I do actually have another one of these mice lying around but I'd rather try and fix this one if I can.
>>
>>683759238
My mouse wheel double clicks. Can I swap out that switch as well?
>>
>>683761334
>$50 for a year or two of use is not bad at all
It is when my $60 off brand mechanical keyboard lasts more than 6 years but the mouses barely get past 2 years of use. I've gone through at least 4 mouses over the course of a single keyboard, that's not "solid".
>>
>>683762121
I don't know. I used to keep extra mice because I'd ragesmash them while gaming.
>>
>>683759238
Because instead of buying overpriced gimmick mice, you can buy chink mice with just as good censors for like $20.
>>
>>683762379
>dude just buy a 20$ mice every year
poor mentality
its not a overpriced gimmick it worked
>>
>>683761334
crazy ive used the same mouse for at least 8 years, its been so long i don't even remember how old it is
>>
>>683761657
the switches might be soldered on to the board so you cant access them
also the screws might be underneath the rubber feet so youd have to take them off too
>>
when my mouse starts double clicking i just start doing half click presses to get a single click.
>>
>>683759238
>g300s starts double clicking
>no longer produced
I just bought some switches and solded them in myself, I like this weird thing too much
>>

>does the same thing without all the gimmicky asus rog bullshit
Or you can just buy a mouse with optical switches
>>
>>683759238
i swapped out the switched on the gpro wireless, never soldered before, was easy and cost 5dollars tops and ive got 8 more switches to replace if needs be, was no reason not to try replace it if i would have had to buy a new one anyway
>>
>>683759238

sure, anon. water...

>buy a razer mouse with optical switches
>still double clicks
>>
>>683770162
That's...not really possible.
>>
>>683770214
I've had a razer optical switch mouse that has literally double clicked.
>>
>>683759238
I've got an orininal MX518 from logitech that still works, and I bought the Hero remake of it and both are still fine. I don't know how you fucks go through so many peripherals.

As for OP's question, it's a great idea but it wouldn't see widespread success in the market because the general populace are fucking stupid, and to get enough adoption from even a niche audience would be difficult because they would have to trust you enough to invest in your platform that you wouldn't go fucking defunct shortly after leaving them fucked which is what happens to so many good idea startups because in the end anon, it's all about money all else be damned.
>>
>>683759238
>why isn't this """feature""" of having a crappy switch standard on all mice
It is
>>
>>683761334
A year?
Fucking hell dude, my old G9x cost me like $120 and that fucker lasted almost a decade before I replaced it with a G502, which has lasted over 5 years.
>>
>>683770530
I'm giving absolute worst case. I usually upgrade before my mouse breaks anyway. I have a Deathadder V2 that's 100% functional that's relegated to being plugged into my monitor.
>>
>>683760459
>a mouse that could last forever
which one is that

Don't buy razer or logitech garbage. China is making legitimate logitech clones that are better; lighter, cheaper & better switches.

What's the point in buying a expensive mouse when it's just going to double click in 2-3 years anyways?
>>
>>683772436
Having a good mouse for 2-3 years.
>>
>>683759238
Just bought a Chakram a month or two ago to replace my G604 after the rubber wore through right where my thumb rests, it was making shooters pretty uncomfortable. So far I've got no complaints
>>
>>683760987
Shocking how this v3 is still the defacto fallback. No fancy bullshit, extra buttons, and can safely purge razer bloatware after you configure the on memory profile. Wireless users can kindly play the knife game. Unless it's for a mobile or couch config.
>>
>>683759238
Soldered on switches aren't a standard feature? I swapped my switches a few times already, on a few mice.
>>
>>683763168
based g300s user.
mine has right click issue where i need to hold it in certain position to register it as clicking(cant really use ads in fps)
i guess ill have to tackle it at some point
>>
I just want MMO mouses to return
>>
>>683760572
i have swamp hands, i can't use anything rubber coated
>>
>>683759238
it is a feature in all mice you just need to learn how to solder
>>
>>683759238
we're not all solderlets.
>>
I am planning on soldering onto my mouse since it is double clicking, actually. Any solderanons here got some tips on how to not fuck it up? I don't have the fancy sucker pump but I have the braid, which I heard is the better alternative?

Still not convinced that there's a better mouse than this
>>
>>683763168
I love the extra buttons on this mouse. I think the click issues are related to the fact that the freaking plastic gets indented against the actual switch. Lift up the top plastic piece and you'll see what I mean.
