I'm so sad about how Owl House played out the romance between Luz and Amity. I was really on board at first because it was one of the very few times I felt like the gay characters actually had good chemistry and romance felt like the natural progression of their dynamic instead of just being LBTBBQBRAAAP pandering. The stark contrast in their personalities made them great foils but not in a way that it would force them to be opposed and I loved watching them play off one another once they warmed up to each other.But when Season 2 rolled around the sandpapered down the personality of every cast member, especially Amity and she lost all the edges that made her a great comedic foil to Luz and I lost all interest in their relationship. The show itself also seemed to be a perpetual identity crisis from Season 2 onward which kind killed my interest. Honestly it would have been a lot better if it kept the self-aware tone of the first season and didn't start to take itself so seriously.
