when did anyone ever say this? if you're good looking and popular then your teenage years are a lot better, you get to experience teenage love and partying without having any real responsibilities in life, after your twenties romance just becomes a chore, partying gets boring, and you suddenly have a shitload of responsibilities
if you're ugly and lonely then your 20s just suck because you're ugly and lonely with no money and more responsibilities, for nerds their 30s are their best years, that's when they start to have money to spend on hobbies and various other things, maybe even women
the 20s is always the shitty limbo where you get all the downsides of being an adult but none of the upsides of it, it's worse than being a teenager for charismatic people and it's worse than being 30+ for nerds
