TRIALS AND IRON BANNER were rare and actually yielded cool stuff. niggas still remember thorn and last word as cancer. then that solar ammo replenishing shotgun was a thing too. vigilance wing coming out... the first time seeing the cosmodrone and encountering the walkers. it was amazing. first time seeing the vex. amazing. Destiny was amazing and stood out as unique before all the derivative and gay space indie games started coming out on steam (I switched to pc from Xbox a couple years later)

>>683799039It's nothing like halo. You don't pick up weapons or grenades on the fly, you have to go through the bloated inventory system to do that. Borderlands is the inspiration for Destiny and the story is a half-baked rehash of Myth: The Fallen Lords. If you liked borderlands and have 1 or 2 friends to bring in with you, you'll like this as well.
It's almost impressive how the company that made Halo CE could also make a game with enemies that lifeless and boring. Just carboard cut-outs.I guess they were already hollowed out by that point, but it's still weird to see such dire change of sensibilites

As others have said, it's closer to something like Borderlands because you don't swap between weapons you find in the field, instead you loot gear with better numbers off bosses and events. The game was finally good near its end. Then destiny 2 came out and it was literally a downgrade in every single way

>>683799039It's fucking boring, I can't imagine how it must have been at launch.The campaigns are boring "go to X and find isolated Y number of enemies/resources to farm in an open field for 15 minutes" until you have to find 5 other jaded retards to farm one of the 4 raids for endgame gear every week (good luck doing that in current year + 10 where the population is slowly dying). Don't forget to do this over and over until you have your subclasses maxed out too.The music is great, some exotics are cool but most are just worthless and the armor sets range from being ugly as sin to clean cardboard pads glued to a motorcycle helmet.Genuinely the most 6/10 game I've ever played and the sequel amps up everything from the first game, especially the microtransactions and FOMO garbage model.
