For the game developers here, do any of you have "The Simpsons Already Did It" syndrome? Do any of you feel demotivated to continue developing your game simply because your game reminds you of another game that already exists?

For example, why would anyone develop a fighting game? There's Street Fighter II, you can emulate it.
A platformer? You can emulate Super Mario World.
RPG? You have Chrono Trigger, Final Fantasy, and Secret of Mana. You can emulate them for free.
If I were Gabe Newell, there would be no Half-Life today because you could simply play Quake instead.
Games should be so original and have mechanics so specific that you cannot explain with words or "X but with a Y twist" formula.
What about you?
