Touhou lore is vast and complicated. It's also split into two sections, Canon and Fanon. Fanon is actually the more important lore, as canon is loose and vague by design. If you're interested in getting into touhou, consider playing at least 1 mainline game (Perfect cherry blossom is conisdered the easiest game, and is actually my favorite). There is no wrong way to be a touhou fan, but PLEASE at least play 1 game

>>683812748As much as people dislike it, I'd really recommend UDoALG to any touhou fan trying to get into touhou games. Maybe do a couple runs of EoSD or PCB to get a feel for normal gameplay, then head to UDoALG when you feel burnt out.The mechanics are complicated compared to a normal touhou game, but the ability to take a hit and later regenerate that shield is VERY overpowered. It lets you get to later stages even if you aren't too good. It has a cast of a bunch of great characters that fans will recognize, and if you play through all routes, you'll be getting better at shmup in general as you play.I tried EoSD, and could barely get to Sakuya using all 3 continues. After playing a ton of UDoALG, and getting 10-ish 1ccs on there, I went back to EoSD and I beat Remillia on my first try! Another handful of attempts and I got my first normal game 1cc.
