Just a tutorial before the proper gameplay.I don't like either series/genres. Build variety and experimentation is more fun imo, but games like Elden Ring are built around getting instructions on beating the game proper way by not using broken stuff. It kinda sucks how easily Souls-games fall apart(shields, vit stat, magic...), but in the end the PvP is more important.

Souls-games are about fast reflexes and learning iframes, backstabs, and parrying. Prepares you for the real meat of the game.Honestly not for me as I like more tanky and slow-paced combat. I know I'm a casual normalfag, but it's just personal preference. My own taste in fav games is pretty shit in the end so I'm last one to criticize games I don't like. Especially when they are one of the best games around (Dark Souls 2)

It's actually pretty fun to fight against an invader 2v1 because you have a huge advantage and will almost always win, but it's such a waste of time and it happens like every 10 minutes. You can't get into any major enemy encounters while invaded or they'll join in and gangbang you, and you can't rush the invader and end it right away because they'll run forever until they find enemies to hide behind.So that's my problem with it. People who invade and then behave like pussies and waste everyone's time.
