If you make an open world but try to put everything that happens in FF7 you either end up with an incredible small world or a 500gb game, but making it turn based allows you to bypass the necessity of making a huge world so that combat can take place sisnce you can just teleport everyone to a very small combat arena with a screen transition and left the space for everything else. FF7 Rebirth is huge world but feels completly empty since everything exists for the purpose of item gathering and enemy placement for all your stupid moves with particles effects everywhere to take effectJust look at DQ11, the story has a perfect start, middle and end, side content included, with more towns, more weapons more skills than Rebirth in the same amount of playtime
