So many people play games just to talk to their friends about the experience. I don't really see anything extremely wrong with that, but I've never really needed to do that.I've seen people completely stop caring about a game or game series entirely simply because they can't talk about it to their friends. Am I lonely person? I mean, yes I am. But what I mean is, am I truly weird for not needing to talk about my experiences with games? I can play niche things and love them, I can play popular things and love them, I can be the only person who ever played a game and love it. I think that is normal, but seemingly the shared experience is so important to a lot of people that they will completely avoid games that won't be popular with their friends, even if it is a single player game.At the end of the day I know I'm simply a different kind of person. I've talked to people about games I've played sure, but never really got into a deep discussion about games until I met other devs. I like that discussion, but it isn't something I need to like a game.

Playing a single player game by yourself with no other observers, you're like the hypothetical tree falling in the forest. Unless the gameplay is insanely satisfying like Cities Skylines or Devil May Cry 5.
