There you go man.

6 CPU cores, 30% more GPU compute, better cooling

just the same thing but more powerful and with better battery life

If it doesn't have two usbc4's it will flop.

M-make it w-waterproof... please...

External GPU compatibility out of the box, usb4, thunderbolt, whatever the fuck.
Probably my biggest complaint with the original and kind of weird to not include.

Same size BUT
>fix the buttons and pads placement
>bigger screen
>OLED MANDATORY
>more memory
>better ram
>gpu is fine but getting something a little better wont hurt
>mandatory 1080p (anything about that is a meme and a waste of resources for a handled)
>better battery life
>>
1080p 120hz screen with VRR. Latest specs and improve on battery life. Make it more expensive if need be. It just sucks that the current Deck has such outdated hardware.
>>
what are the fans like on the deck? are they loud?
>>
Same thing just more power
>>
something lighter, less cumbersome, without sacrificing the screen size. otherwise no notes
>>683857835
in absolute silence you'll here them, with game audio going on probably not
>>
Bigger screen and more power. If that means getting rid of the battery so be it. Who the fuck plays this unplugged
>>
>>683854785
Make it foldable and a cell phone replacement
>>
Viable VR
>>
Windows support day 1, or requirements for companies to tick the box to allow their EAC to function on linux, or some other sort of requirement, it's ridiculous just how many games you can't fucking play on the deck because of anticheat horseshit, sometimes fixed right away, but often not for months if ever.
>>
>>683857835
It's made by valve, so the fans of the deck are very loud and autistic, constantly telling everyone it's not a console and that valve can do no wrong.
Oh
you mean the hardware fans?
>>
It's perfect already, but it's a computer, Valve is on a seemingly never ending streak of good products since Half-Life.
>>
>there's people unironically asking for a Windows stall
Geez
>>
>>683854785
Better performance
Control layout could be improved since you can clearly tell they were compromising with button placement, I'd like to see the track pads moved further down so the buttons and sticks have room to breathe.
>>
>>683857835
The OG model sounds like a jet engine but they fixed all the thermal issues in the OLED model so its much quieter.
>>
>>683854785
sold for 199 usd
4k 240hz display with micro led screen
apu should be equivalent to a 4090 paired with i9-14900K
16 terabytes of internal ssd storage
battery that lasts at minimum12 hours playing recent aaa releases at max settings, 24-48 hours playing less demanding games
improved cooling so i can't hear the fan at all
hall effect joysticks with pressure sensitive face buttons, better trackpads, and adaptive triggers like the ps5 controller
improve the os so i never have to download shader pre cache updates
if valve does all that and more i might consider getting one
>>
>>683854785
Realistically, better cooling and a bigger battery. Unrealistically like 3/4 of the bullshit the retards upthread are spouting.

Currently, the fastest way is to move the roms onto a external hard drive and then plug it into the steam deck with USB hub

Couldn't you just install filezilla on it if you wanna ftp?

>>
>>683862146
That sounds super fucking gay and a pain in the ass to do.
>>
>>683854785
Same shit as the OLED but with better battery life and performance. Otherwise it’s near perfect. I don’t think the screen needs a res bump - it’s sharp enough given its size and going up to 1080p would tank performance and battery life.
>>
>>683861889
>better way to transfer roms
kdeconnect for one-time transfers, syncthing if you just want to download roms on your pc and have them autosync. also a good way to sync saves for non-steam games.

Make a version with even weaker specs designed for 480p gaming with the footprint of a psp go
>>
>>683854785
Nothing. The first one soured my experience with it too much. Sold it a few weeks ago.

Make docked mode easier though. Having to go into settings to turn everything into 1080p is crazy.
Would buy a epic games handheld thoughever, or a Microsoft one if I can just boot into egs easily and not touch the rest.

>>
>>683854785
Is it too late to buy an oled 'eck? I plan to get one this christmas.
>>
>>683870580
2026 is when the steam deck 2 and xbox handheld will release. You have time.

The only reason why I’m not selling my rog ally is cause I’m broke and all other gaming laptops for the price that are used are quite a bit more expensive. And not much better.
>>
Better battery life.
Not just for the Deck but for everything really.
Fuck current batteries.
>>
>>683854785

You can do that right now though.
Hell if you're really retarded you could install windows on it and then the Sweenyman and Bungie will still ban you for trying to play Fortnite and Destiny on it.
>>
>>683857835
LCD model owner here. At 2000-3000 RPM, it's realistically inaudible. At 4000 RPM you can hear it but it's not too bad, easily covered by the sound of the game itself. At 5000+, it's a jet engine.
At ~10W, the fans spins at around 3000 RPM. At 12W, at around 4000 RPM. If you unlock the TDP and uncap the framerate, the fan reaches 5000-6000 RPM. For reference, I played Elden Ring @10W with a 30 FPS cap, medium-ish settings.

As far as I know the OLED model is a lot better (more efficient SoC, quieter and bigger fan), but I never tried it personally.

I'd want internal upgrades of course, and VRR. I wouldn't turn down even better sound quality as well.

Other than that, I love everything else. 800p and 90hz are perfect price/performance points. Please keep OLED and HDR. I also quite enjoy the siOKze and shape. It's perfect, like grabbing a big ol'handful of my wife's ass or tits. The Deck was made for me to molest.

Being lighter would be nice, if possible, but not a deal breaker. I play my Deck so much and for so long, that my 40 year-old elbows get sore. That's more of a me problem, though.
>>
Switch size and weight
At least a 120hz display with VRR
As much battery as possible
Buttons like the dualsense, silent

That's it, give me that and I don't care it's a little underpowered for AAA garbage. I'll put 600 bucks on that easy.
>>
I want it to be 25 lbs so that all the pussies complaining about the weight cry even harder and maybe they can finally man up and develop some strength. Its seriously not that heavy ffs, little basedboys
>>
I have a question for current deck users
Can I install Linux Mint 22 on this shit or is there anything in particular SteamOS has that cannot be used there
I just despise Plasma
>>
>>683854785
Another usb port.
>>
>>683857835
They were on the original, but the oled fixed that.
>>
>>683854785

>>
>>683854785
I know this will make it worthless monetarily but I just want the same thing but smaller and longer battery life. I dont need more power.
>>
>>683873338
The steam deck is already worthless though.
>>
>>683854785
all my fucking games to actually work
>>
>>683863140
I think 1080p would be nice but I'd lose it in a heartbeat for 4:3 800p
>>
>>683854785
non-linux
>>
>>683873380
ive played more games on my deck than the last 10 years. the only thing it really cant handle is mouse controlled games like wrath of the righteous. honestly thats actually a good point

I dont want anything power wise, but I do want a fucking fantastic crapple/surface/tab tier touch screen.
>>
Bring back the Steam Controller touchpad/face buttons positioning. Right joystick is unnecessary, so just stick it in some corner out of the way or remove it entirely.
>>
>think it's too late to buy an OLED this year
>might as well wait for Deck 2
>will probably wait to see if they do the same upgrade-but-not-new-version that was OLED to LCD
>might as well wait for Deck 3
I'm never going to get into this shit, am I?
>>
>>683862146
Just enable sshd and use whatever SFTP client.
>>
>>683873380
It is the best video game device I've ever owned, and it's not even close and I've owned a lot. This is what consoles should be.
>>
>>683873851
What games did you play on your 'eck?
>>
>>683873338
That should be a variant, not the main system, but I agree. A deck option that's pocket portable would be nice, even if it sacrifices the screen and control options.
>>
Desu the only reason I'd consider a Deck is as a replacement for my desktop which has a 950 in it. Swapping my big bulky tower for a docked Switch could be good, though I don't really have a use for the form factor. If prebuilt mini-PCs weren't so ass I'd get one.
>>
>>683873895
I played Nioh 2 and Hi-Fi Rush earlier today. Elden Ring yesterday.
>>
>>683854785
>Shat do you want from the next steam deck
I want a track ball for cursor movement, and clicking buttons on the side.

>>683857835
My OLED is pretty silent
>>
>>683854785
A better touchscreen.
>>
>>683870020
Their animated what?
>>
>>683874710
Good choices. Nioh 2 is great on eck.
>>
I don't think they should do 1920x1080. 1440x900 however...

But I do know what valve is going to want to do with steamdeck 2. There's going to be a little back pack for it and it's going to connect to light weight next gen vr headset and combine cpu/gpu/battery power with it and run untethered vr.
>>
>>683877872
VR is dead
>>

>>
>>683873905
>>683873338

>>
>>683877920
Because of current limitations (ignoring Facebook fucking up the market). If you could wear a small form factor kit that lets you make use of wide open spaces, it would be a game changer.
>>
enough power to emulate Gen 7 at 1080p 60fps and play Gen 8 PC games at 4k 60fps

>>
>>683854785
It's already almost perfect but give me lenovo's joy-cons that can serve as a mouse and it would actually be perfect.
>>
VRR Screen

Also a valve branded eGPU or something and then I never need a desktop again, 1080p is good enough for me. The docking experience in general is wonky, they need to get it up to par with the switch.
>>
An on-screen keyboard that actually works. Phone OSKs are 100x better. There is no reason for the OSK to be so bad. 25% of the time it doesn't even engage properly.
>>
>>683854785
I don't fucking know, the current one is already great.
I would've said something like silent mode/fan control but there's already mods that allow you to have fan control.
>>
>>683854785
I've bought mine for emulation and it's works fine as it is, will play on in until it will die out for probably another 8-10 years
>>
>>683854785
Replaceable battery, this way I can have 20h game time with more batteries and if one die it's not really an issue.
3 of these universal slots you can put USB or something in them, currently deck have 1 USB port and 1 SD card slot, with these you could have get exactly what you want including HDMI port or another SSD, with replaceable battery you also don't need the USB port to charge it, just change the battery and use external charger.
Detachable sides so I can use it like tablet.
Support for external GPU.
That's pretty much it.
>>
So it's basically a given that it'll use a smaller strix point right? that should be a good enough leap
>>
>>683879880
Yeah, think they said what 2026-2027 before it made sense to release a deck 2? That's basically strix point "official release" plus the 2ish years it takes AMD to get off their ass and actually get those chips to something you'd call available at scale. This is also assuming the wumao bugs dont invade taiwan by then (kill all chinks, behead chinks, roundhouse kick a chink into a wok, etc.)
>>
>>683877920
VR is hibernating.
