Aside from that, I found the degenerated guro aesthetics and the sick atmosphere to be much more genuine than in, say, Fear & Hunger. I guess The Citadel would qualify? I found it a lot more fun that I had expected. Sure, the level design is very one-note, but the tactical feel to the combat keeps tensions high and the gore adds a lot to the atmosphere. Reminds me a bit of Hotline Miami - not the aesthetic, but the sense of trivializing something really fucked up
