I've always felt that JRPGs that are mostly composed of menus would better played with a TV remote than an actual controller. Similar with visual novels better fit for e-ink screens. Any games that support alternative control and ways to experience them?
remote buttons feel like shit to press I wouldn't want to use one for an extended period of time
>>693348816doesn't have to be an actual tv remote just a controller shaped like one
i want a d-pad except it's infrared and feels like shit and its input latency can be measured in full seconds
There's only one GOAT rpg controller
>>693348751Here’s your JRPG controller bro.
>>693348751No, I think something like a Wii nunchuck but with a D-pad would be the ideal JRPG controller.
>>6933488911. it's a menu control2. infrared is instant.
like remember teletext? how is there not at least an indie game in this style
>>693348751You can change the default keys in most JRPGs. Arrow keys + Shift Z X C work pretty well. Some have WASD with the E, Q, and similar keys for confirm or cancel. I've not tried setting up the Numpad to fully run a RPG, but it should be fine.A lot of visual novels can be completed just by clicking the mouse.
>>693349182eraToho games, altho you can just click on the option rather than type in the number if you like.

>>693349182>rememberIt still exists and my father-in-law uses it.
>>693348751>Similar with visual novels better fit for e-ink screens.VNs entire visual style would not work on e-ink displays. Them being reading based doesn't mean it'd fit.
>>693349328nah it's not the same with a keyboard
