Not as good as i remembered. You can tell it's a low budget game.
>>
Killer7 is much better. Not only is it less repetitive, but it does a better job at hiding its low budget. The framerate is also more stable.
>>
>>693926879
so low budget they had to show the backstory of the very first character in the game in a spin-off manga instead of in the game
>>
>>693926879
the first one is the only one i can definitively remember as 'good.' the opening is such a strong hook
>can't find the exit
>can't find the exit
>>
>>693926879
it begins and ends when you swing the wii remote, travis yells FUCKHEAD and decapitates a guy
the dark step is kind of cool too i guess. suda doesn't understand video games.
>>
gameplay was always mid. bosses are kind of fun but the combat vs regular enemies is pretty bad.
>>
Not a broken game, but it isn't polished either. Lost of framerate drops, pop-in, and collision detection issues.
>>
This is so easy to pull off

What went so right with Killer7? Was it Capcom being the publisher and Shinji Mikami being the executive producer? Was it the long development cycle that it had (2002-2005)?
>>
>>693928240
suda had total control, top tier dev team and lots of money.
>>
>>693927526
who is the mangaka?
>>
1 or 2
>>
I wish Killer7 was a Gamecube exclusive. Just like it happened with Viewtiful Joe and RE4, Capcom decided in the final months of production that a PS2 version should also be made.

>Lost of framerate drops, pop-in,
i think no more heroes 3 was even worse lol
>>
>>693927526
same dude that drew fire emblem on the 3ds? sexo this dude is nuts
>>
>>693926879
I played it recently and thought it was great. Had mixed feelings on 2.
>>
>>693929095
the ps2 version of both re4 and killer 7 look substantially worse, other than the extra content for re4 its legit better to play on gamecube, no reason to play killer 7 on anything but the gamecube or the pc port

And..?
>>
Killer 2 and NMH2 is better overall
>>
>>693927526
>so low budget they had to show the backstory of the very first character in the game in a spin-off manga instead of in the game
That's fine. Helter Skelter existed to be a cool-looking dude who jobbed to a goofy-looking otaku.
>>
>>693930462
Nmh2 would be better if the camera was the same
>>
>>693930181
2's ending sucked, but Henry waking from a coma just to immediately Travis jerking off to daytime anime is a top 3 NMH moment for me.

But we're in a post-NMH3 world where 2 is no longer that bad.
>>
>>693927682
that's because it's the only good one
tsa was nice though
>>
>>693926879
What about No More Heroes makes it feel like a low budget game.

there were plenty of AAA games in that era with huge budgets that were cutting all sorts of corners.
>>
>>693930838
NMH2 is weird in that I felt like the first hour or so and the last hour or so were both fucking dogshit, but everything in between ranges from good to great.
>>
>>693930475
>no! you don't get it! it's actually supposed to be shitty on purpose!

huh. sure. let's ignore Suda saying how much he regretted putting so little focus on storytelling in those games due to lack of budget especially with NMH2
>>
>>693930290
give zoomies a break
>>
I would prefer for suda to make manga, all of his games are kinda meh or ok at best.
I really wanted NMH3 to be good but it felt super undercook.
at least it got me playing his other games tho, the silver case is absolute kino

Yusuke Kozaki. He did all the art and character designs for No More Heroes, Fire Emblem, Gravity Rush, Speed Grapher, Ai Somnium Files, and many other video games, manga, light novels, and anime. Great artist desu. Really detailed and imaginative style

He made one. Kurayami Dance. Here you go buddy, read it here: https://www.believeinthe.net/kurayami.html
Funnily enough, it's not good. Arts better than the writing. His VN work is easily his best stuff. Including TSA dialogue.
>>
>>693934458
huh, welp thats a surprise. it give it a try thanks.
have we heard anything about him? does he have any plans?
>>
>>693934250
didnt they run out of time and budget with 3?
>>
>>693934963
Probably still trying to get Flower Sun Rain ported to PC idk.
