The whole telekinesis angle doesn't entirely fit with Sonic. It's like how Shadow has a bunch of extraneous abilities that don't really add much to the gameplay. Time-stop and lasers are cool and all, but Sonic doesn't really need those things. For instance, take time stop. Let's say the challenge is for you to get across a bunch of moving platforms. The entire point is that the platforms move, and there's no point if they don't move. But now you have a timestop, you can get the platforms to stop moving. So now there's no more point to the moving platform challenge.It's like that. All of Shadow's abilities are either pointless or go against the point of the gameplay. But thing is unlike Silver, Shadow isn't entirely defined by his stupid Chaos powers. He also goes fast and jumps on things, which are the crux of how Sonic gameplay works. Silver, however, is defined COMPLETELY by his telekinesis. He didn't even go fast in his initial game. He just straight up doesn't mesh with the series because he alone does something completely different from what everyone else is doing.

I think that the missing thing about his character is his personal tragedy. He just comes from a bad future and wants to change it. That's all. It's a good start, but it's missing that personal connection that would make us relate and sympathize with Silver more as a character. Let's take Trunks for instance. He also came from a bad future, where powerful enemies wreck havoc, killing millions and leaving cities in ruins. But he also had Gohan, who was a mentor and friend to him. We get to see them bond together before Gohan lost his arm and was killed by the androids. And when Gohan's death happened, it broke Trunks, making him become a super saiyan for the first time. We can relate to Trunks here because we understand what it's like to lose a loved one.What I'm trying to say is that if Silver had a dear friend or family member, that lost their lives to the monsters that doomed his future, then I think that would make his character more interesting. It's what worked with Shadow as well. He wasn't just the edgy Sonic doppelganger that swears and rides a bike and uses guns. He was also a tragic character that had a kindhearted friend who was murdered in cold blood and was struggling to move on. And people fell in love with Shadow for it.

You'd need to change the NPC model distribution to be more varied (if not make some new models entirely), retranslate all their dialogue (most of it was butchered), either axe a bunch of redundant missions and replace them with better ones or else change the existing ones entirely, have NPCs update location and dialogue more frequently, make up new dialogue for that, rewrite a ton of outright placeholder text, and even then there's a bunch of stuff devs had planned that wasn't realized we'll never know about. And that's not even getting into how each Hub probably needs to be reworked at least slightly due to how fucking rushed the originals were.It's insane how much worse it was done than SA1. Holy shit.
