What don't I understand? 3 turns doesn't give me many options, here is my plan exactly as executed:Turn 1 is auto attacking as it's literally the only option.Turn 2 I can use a shield lowering attack and whatever the least useful attack skill is (because it's going to be unbuffed).Turn 3 the buff finally becomes available, so I do that, then the breaker special attack (to increase the break multiplier), then the attacker special attack which is at its maximum potential at that point.Then enemy is left with 5% hp and I've failed.What am I missing?

Some characters get debuffs which add elemental weaknesses to targets.Sounds like you got a bunch of base characters. They can work for now but by chapter 3 or so they'll be useless. You're meant to upgrade them so that you can use their ultimate skills on other characters, and then use the other (elemental) characters.
