Don't take all of this conclusively. Everything is still early, and VERY early in development, and up in the air and could change by release. Bethesda deliberately aren't using any design documents for this title while developing it, could change in the future.I'll stick around for a bit to answer some questions. I'm still not used to using this website. Trolls or racists will be ignored.>Todd Howard as game director>Inon Zur composing for the game's soundtrack (Starfield, Fallout 4 & 76)>development title of this game is 'Highfell'>XBOX and PC exclusive, with talks to bringing it to playstation a few years after release>Currently in pre-alpha, Starfield team is significantly smaller with most of Bethesda moving onto this project>Overhauled creation engine again>Strong crunch culture currentlyGame itself: ->Two provinces for the first time in an TES game which is this title's 'gimmick' as the people in the team call it. Map looks like the image in this post more or less.>Title's second gimmick is the focus on seafaring/pirate gameplay and procedural generation content, with a ship builder and procedurally generated islands and dungeons when using the ship at sea.>Settlement system from Fallout 4 returns, allowing you to run your own village or settlement as a lordly ruler type>Cities plan on being large, but so far they're mostly all Solitude/Whiterun size as of now and don't have loading screens to enter. Planned to have around 12-13 cities.>Bethesda trying to address how to reduce as many loading screens in the game after Starfield complaints>Progression is more simplified, with Bethesda wanting "less numbers and menus, more gameplay" in leveling. There are no classes or signs anymore. You acquire perks through reading books. Learning spell books have a mini game tied to them based on magic skill. You get stronger through gameplay (health increases if you survive damage, stamina if you sprint alot, magicka if you use magic alot, etc)
>>695013738I accidentally posted that artwork. This is the map that I was speaking of. Apologies.
>>695013738Daggerfall had 2 provinces, sooooooo.Cool leak though I think I will make a leak tomorrow.
lame, run it by reddit again until you come up with something moderately funny
>>695013738>not using any design documentsstopped reading thereyou don't know the first thing about game development, there is no dev without docs/thread
>>695013738this mostly sounds like complete dogshit, which means this leak is probably true. do they ever answer what happens after the events of skyrim like the civil war?
>>695013738We are going to pajeet land?
>>695014020I don't know. I'm pretty sure it is set after Skyrim but I don't know about the civil war. There are dragons in this game from what I've seen and they are apparently from the events of Skyrim and have no masters.
>>695013738>Strong crunch culture currentlyDo you have a grasp of what crunch means? It's working developers to the bone, 12-16 hours a day (sometimes even more!), to meet a deadline, usually a hard set release date.Crunch is usually deserved for the final months and weeks up until the release, why the fuck would anyone crunch on a pre-alpha game that is years, or half a decade at least away? You are just throwing around "gamer terms", fuck off.
>>695014128I was mainly referring to the Starfield team and the devs behind upgrading the engine to meet the technological needs of ES6.
>>695013738>You get stronger through gameplay (health increases if you survive damage, stamina if you sprint alot, magicka if you use magic alot, etc)Stealth archery will be better than ever!
>>695013840Yes, but the first TES games were completely procedurally generated. This is two provinces in ONE game that are completely handcrafted. The only procedural generation in this game are the sailing mechanics and dungeons. That's an important distinction in my mind.
>>695013738If Emil is working on this game, then it is automatically a piece of shit. I said my piece.
>>695014507Emil Pagliarulo? Yes, he's the lead writer of this title. Why? What's wrong with him?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gJAiM9Y5yUI
You know what's funny about this post, a similar 4chan post was posted to reddit yesterday. Many of the same claims.
>>695013738If you truly were from Bethesda you'd know why no one likes him. Glad to know this game is D.O.A years in advance
>>695013738I dont care. TES hasn’t been interesting since Morrowind and modders don’t care to make their new games good anymore.
>>695015281Can't speak to that 'leak' in specific, but I imagine it's not difficult considering what I detailed isn't really hard to guess for an upcoming Elder Scrolls title, but I did prioritize what I found were the biggest changes or additions from the last game.
>>695014128To be fair, crunch culture can happen when a studio is starting a new project. But it is uncommon.
>>695013738what's the plot about, it better not just be the thalmor
>>695015897Seems to be a work in progress. But so far I know that it is set nearly a century after Skyrim, and yes the Aldmeri Dominion have a big presence in the game as they've taken over everything by this point in the story including Hammerfell, with exception to High Rock which I guess could be considered the answer to the Skyrim civil war. However they are not the main bad guys. You can join them as a faction as they try to take the last kingdom that belongs to the currently crumbling Empire or oppose them which is this game's version of the civil war. The main plot revolves around a magical white tower that has 'awakened' because of the Thalmor that caused a god called Akel to awaken causing time loops and other anomalies throughout the land that could threaten to destroy the world. You don't really defeat Akel the same traditional way you would slay Alduin, as he isn't a traditional threat. You more so put him back to sleep and end the anomalies that threaten to destroy the world by deactivating the tower through a series of quests. You could work with the Thalmor or different factions on the fate of this tower which can further their agenda, or be independent. You're not some chosen one or hero either in this one, but someone caught at a bad time as a political prisoner between the Aldmeri and crumbling Empire that become a hero on his own
>>695017264>factions & story all revolve around who owns an objectthey're just trying to cash in on the game of thrones shit, aren't they. michael kirkbride, please if you can hear us get these people away from us, please save elder scrolls dear god please
>>695013738>focus on procedural contentI hope you're just a larper making this up
>>695017657Well the procedural stuff is only a small part of the game when you think about it. You don't really need to interact with the seafaring part of the game, and can just enjoy the handcrafted content in the two provinces. So I really don't see your problem here.
>>695013984Unironically that is the part of this post that gives it the most credibility as this is a well known thing about Bethesda if you look it up. This is a well researched larp or a real leak
>thinks we can't spot ai passed off as artwork>larpy larp larp wants (you)s
>>695013738>Overhauled creation engine againHahahaha
>>695013738>Bethesda deliberately aren't using any design documents for this title while developing itLmaoFake b8
>>695017571That was literally Fallout 3's story.
>>695013738That sounds awful; Seems legit.
>>695019164>everyone and their mothers are after a towersounds more like new vegas with the strip
>>695013738Dog shit leak attempt, but Inon Zur being the composer is all but assured. Which sucks because the dude is fucking boring.
>>695013738I'm guessing Starfield was basically their testing grounds. I imagine they're using the same technology for space, except replace space with empty oceans, and planets are replaced by distant islands and cities that you have to use a loading screen to get to and so on. Sounds pretty soulless desu but a tes game with pirates sounds kino at the same time
>>695013738What engine?
>>695014507>Emil Pagliarulo>Inon Zur>BethesdaGod this one may actually hurt me a little inside when it comes outFallout 4 hurt me bros, I haven't been the same since
>>695019262most factions would be fine with dismantling the strip and routing the power from Hoover Dam somewhere else though
OP here, I forgot to mention I was a black transwoman and that new game will reach never seen before heights when it comes to inclusivity and making a statement, look forward to it!
Go to /v/ archive, find tes6 leaks from dec 2023
>>695013738>>Two provinces for the first time in an TES gameBased retard
>>695019802i think he meant two provinces that arent randomly generated
>>695019857He (you) said what he (you) said. He was (you were) blatantly wrong. Anything else is cope and backpedaling.
>>695014128Crunch may also be a thing when the devs are ordered to make a slice of the game for shareholders or some expo. Like it was in the case of CP77 when the devs were constantly making demos instead of the game itself.
Elaborate on the game progression. This just sounds like Skyrim again.
>>695013738>Cities plan on being largeThe most unbelievable thing you said, try again in the next thread gay faggot
>>695019389>the same technologyLoading screens?
>>695013738>Inon Zur composing for the game's soundtrack (Starfield, Fallout 4 & 76)
>>695020409It pretty much is for the most part. Don't fix something that ain't broke. However, there is a plan to add skill decay like imprisonment when you don't progress in a skill after a while. You unlock perks from skill books or training with NPCs for a cost, which means perks can be locked behind factions and quests and whatnot, instead of just using a menu. Otherwise you simply just get better/stronger at the skill you level through regular gameplay. Magic is a mini game like lockpicking instead of just instantly eating a book and knowing how to shoot fire. If you don't configure your character correctly during creation, you can for instance not be effective at wearing heavy armor, but over time you become faster and better because you keep wearing and getting hit while wearing it. That sort of stuff.
>>695013738creation engine means loading screens (again)
>>695014619>Why? What's wrong with him?his work the last 10 years speaks for itself
>>695013738so what you're saying is that Todd is done selling us Skyrim over and over, now he's just going to resell Starfield until we like it.
Will I be able to join all the guilds in one playthrough like Skyrim?
>>695022472Yep, you should be able to. But joining the Aldmeri locks you out of the Empire and vice versa.Alright, well I'm done here. Hope this post is remembered by the time the game comes out. You guys are rude, but not as bad as I expected from what I heard of 4chan.
>>695022541Nice larp nigger, your faggot thread inspired me to make a larp thread for (You) farming. Next time there are tes6 leak threads, it'll be me
>>695019128Emil has said he doesn't use docs in old GDC talks before. People used to bring this up and shit on him for it a few years back.
>>695013738Let me marry multiple people and have a harem without bending over backwards with janky mods TODDRealistically I have next to no hope for this, especially if they're making the same exact mistake that they did with star field in not having a central design doc to keep everyone on the same page
>>695013738>Trolls or racists will be ignored.you're trying too hard
>>695022541Well we have "leakers" every other day of the week. Do you expect us to be welcoming to every single one of them?
Fake leakers have all used the same writing style for the past two decades.
not using docs can work if your team is small, experienced, and already completely philosophically aligned with the game's direction.otherwise it's a recipe for disaster. a "doc" isn't a meaningless bureaucratic process or "just" busy work. it's a forcing function to turn worthless ideas into actual refined thought. the act of writing down your ideas so that others can consume and critique them is ultimately what makes it possible to execute on them. it's an extremely important iterative process and you need to do it well to get large teams aligned to a vision.the lack of these docs might explain why bethesda games have stagnated in innovation. explains why, once again, we're getting "overhauled" creation engine slop.also explains the bizarrely protracted dev cycle. can you imagine the shear amount of hours wasted getting individual devs/artists/etc aligned when there isn't a canonical reference for the game's vision?
>>695013738>>Bethesda trying to address how to reduce as many loading screens in the game after Starfield complaintsLots of other things make this a larp but this is the funniest one. Bethesda is too retarded and stuck on their 3D (r*****)PG maker engine to fix this. They physically can't.And the devs adamantly defend Starfield against all criticism, this included, up to this very day.You also failed to mention what the character will be. The Creation Engine is only good for making games about a unbeatable hero that fights aggressively face on but survives. They need to have the character written as an unstoppable power.
>>695014619Are you a dumbass bethesda drone? He literally says that story is not important in a video game because gamers don't care about the story. Despite the fact that the most heavily story inspired and driven games are some of the best fucking games made. Emil is such a fucking worthless sack of shit and he needs to be let go immediately. Shartfield is the biggest contender for seeing how shit his writing is.Also, doing temples 240 times to get all the powers is just some of the dumbest shit bethesda has ever pulled out of their asses.
>>695024275They don't use a design doc because the replacement is the Creation Engine. They don't need to know if there's mechanic X, mechanic Y, feature A or anything. Is it avaliable in the Creation Engine? Use it. Is it not? Then it doesn't exist and you do something else.
>>695013738>>XBOX exclusiveThose don't exist anymore.
>>695013738>I'm still not used to using this website.Oh yeah? And what exactly have you done around here meanwhile then?I have seen better '''''''''''leaks''''''''''''' than this garbage, try again next time.
>>695014128We at Lays take crunch very serious and is the focus from the start of any new amazing flavour of chips we make. We have a 24/7 crunch cultureNo crunch, no Lays
>>695013738>Inon ZurI'll never forgive whichever whore made up lies about Soule and robbed us of his soundtracks.
