How the hell do you guys have energy to play games after work?

Just quit your job, it's that simple
>>
>>695182263
Easy? I even work a manual labour job. Maybe it's cause I'm still in my 30s, but I still easily pull 50+ hours a week playing vidya.
>>
>>695182459
idk, i'm not american. as I understand it you don't really have neetbux over there.
>>
>>695182263
I don't try very hard at work
>>

i dont. thats why i took the 3 x 12 pill so i get a 4 day weekend.

My wife makes me exercise with her every morning and cooks healthy meals. It helps a lot with the energy levels.

I do manual labor 8-5 and 100% it took nearly a year to fully adjust
now, I wake up everyday at 645, even if I go to bed at 3am
on a day I have work in the morning I can stay up to 11pm gaming comfortably
on a day I worked but do not work the next I can stay up to around 1am
if I do not work during the day or the next day I can stay up to around 3am or 4 if the bants are good
t. 35y/o
in my 20s I was an alcoholic(I still am) and I wouldn't start gaming until 7pm-3am anyway but mostly just wow with ppl I knew
but lets look at the numbers
I get home at 515pm so roughly 6 after meal + shower, stay up to 11pm with 30m before bed = roughly 18hours of vidya M-Thurs and roughly an additional 7.5 on Friday
on sat after breakfast and groceries + reading through the hangover I can start the same from noon instead of 6pm, same on sun but with 11pm bedtime
I have no kids / wife and live alone so all of this is highly achievable
tl;dr I've played / beaten more games in 2 years of working than 5 years as a neet

Wait until you have kids. Not a child. Multiple. When they’re little and can’t participate, you’re stuck playing late at night, BUT that’s actually your only time to spend 1-on-1 with your wife. So you won’t be playing games much.

It’s still worth it, though.
>>

>>
>>695182263
I don't play video games

when it comes to reading books I can still manage to read 100 pages a night pretty well
>>

By being in good shape so you have plenty of energy and quick recovery. Don't be a fat ass, a lanket or slothful in general.
>>
I'm too tired to play games from neeting all day, there really isn't enough time in a day
>>
This feeling didn’t hit me until I got an apartment and a child. Nowadays, I’m lucky to get 1 hour of game time in. I find it best to stick to pick up and play games. I’m messing around with Ghostface in MK1, grinding in Vampire Survivors and starting my thousandth playthrough of Bayonetta. Fitting other hobbies in is definitely a pain.

Sleep eight hours. If it means you can't play video games so be it.
It kills your entire day if you don't get enough sleep. I used to only get 5 hours of sleep a night, come home from work then take a four hour nap then wake up at 11 PM unable to go back to sleep then only get 3 more hours of sleep before it's back to wage cage.
70% of my gaming comes from vacations. I get 6 weeks off a year, along with 6 days I can tell my boss to fuck off I'm not coming in.

Also if you're neet in the current year, you are retarded, brown, or a retarded brown. I would rather work at McDonalds than be retarded or brown.
>>
>>695185332
i work in building maintenance admin
80% of my coworkers are guys out in the field doing all the heavy lifting shit while i get to sit indoor all day all year being nice and comfy
dudes are different, i wouldn't last one day outside doing manuel labour while most of the guys from outside would blow their brains out if they had do any kind of office work
>>

Why? First World countries actually get a good amount of neet bux, unlike America
>>
>>695185158
Yes we know you have a Wife(Male)
>>
NEET vermin, please leave the thread as this is for a thread for men who haven't failed in life. but the answer is, is to find a job which you can balance with having good enough pay with enough free time. i dont live in third world countries like america, so this might not apply to you, but i work as a nightshift nurse at a nursing home and get paid pretty well and have plenty of free time. i spend my off day accumulating back energy to then go to the gym and then game as i get back from the gym. works out great for me. i'd recommend something like that for you too, if you can find a job like that.
>>
>>695182263
It's dumb to, honestly.

I try not to play games except on the weekend because I have a tendency to stay up too late, and if I don't sleep for 8 hours I feel like bullshit.

Spoiler, asshole: Humans weren't meant to sit in a cube and work indoors at menial cognitive tasks all day, and doing so takes a psychological and physiological toll on your body and mind. It fucks with every major feedback loop in the body, especially dopamine. This leads to issues like depression, sleep disorders, obesity, heart disease, cancer, etc.
There's a reason people in these roles get paid more than people walking around construction sites.

I just got lucky in a few key areas.

I started at a contact center for a big bank, did this for about 1.5 years. I got noticed because I became very efficient with their systems / software so I was recommended to be a tester for them which came with a pay bump. After a few big projects I got an even bigger pay bump. Over time my company became shittier and shittier at managing projects / allocating resources.

Because they're so shit there's massive gaps where I have nothing to do because I have to wait for technical people to do their work and they run into roadblocks due to incoordination all the time that can last for weeks / months.

Congrats all you need to do is pass a simple phone interview with a social worker. Be sure to act as retarded as possible, do lots of crying. 90% of social workers that help you get neetbuxs are 300 pound sheboons and they will feel your plight as long as you're not a white man.
If you're a straight white male, nothing sort of a physical disability that you didn't cause yourself won't get you neetbux in the current year. Those that do are so mentally retarded they have to live with some sort of relative because they cannot function on their own. Even then they're given easy jobs and free transportation to said job. I'm a supervisor and I have 2 employees out of 31 that have mild autsim in their 30s. They live with their mom and get huge government assistance as long as their sons work at least 20 hours a week. If they were brown, they wouldn't need a job.

I reenrolled today to finish my degree and stop being a NEET, but I think I'm just going to get one of those toilet paper Bachelor's degrees, take a SQL cert course, and go into QA. I have experience there.
The digital media degree was to gain industry knowledge to push towards either game QA or a writing job. I have the portfolio, I have self-published work, I even had people that knew people and could put my resume in the stack for me, but I never even got a call back from anyone. Now that I'm throwing out my dreams, why bother spending the next 1.5 years finishing a shitty degree when a Gen Studies bachelor is just as useful and a lot faster.

having coached some friends out of neeting, the base problem is that theyre depressed that their lives are meaningless, and believe that its incredibly hard to have a meaningful and productive life. these are all internet friends and i have fixed it every time by vacationing out their way to "see the country" with our fellow online friends but actually just bullying them into doing volunteer work for random "civic good" activities like painting fences or cleaning garbage etc, get them to work out a little bit, try a couple churches, eat a decent non-slop meal. somewhere inbetween we tell them that if they dont change theyre going to die a lonely death with no wife, no kids, no purpose, no meaning, and as they are theyve already committed suicide by inaction.

its pretty brutal and honestly mean but i dont want to see good men die deaths of despair. only once did one of our friends shut down on us and block us out of his life, but i think he just needed time since hes back in school for a real job now

>feel like I'm wasting my life

Probably because you view life as an NPC, which is most people. If you view life as the accruement of knowledge in order to form your perfect world, then pretty much nothing done during your time here is pointless.
If you died tomorrow, your afterlife would be made from every experience you had up until today, and you would still be happy. There's no correct number of experiences to have.

If you asked someone
>what would make you happy
They'll name stuff they've done before.
>I wish I could eat this meal again
>I wish I could meet my old friends
and so on. So, it's like, you can't even waste your life. Even people who work all their lives are just passing the time before they get to be happy.
Don't like my explanation? It's how I got through life doing nothing. You just need to discover the meaning of life for yourself, and you won't feel like it's a waste of time anymore. Once you've convinced yourself, you'll be fearless. I don't fear death at all, and that's why I'm able to do nothing.

suicides, especially those of inaction, dont spring from the ground out of magic. this is not a perennial issue among young men, but a modern one chiefly. a spring has a source, the replenishment of its aquifer can be traced. 200 years ago every man was connected intimately with his community, would likely marry a girl hes known all his life, towns were real places. to young men who have only known modernity, community is a meaningless word. towns, villages, society is ephemeral. partly because, when presented to the people, the sensitive introverted young man was never "worth the trouble" to a gluttonous, gynocentric and jewish-masculinity focused people. partly because it's systems and those responsible for him never once stopped to consider his sense of community, and belonging.

to build this from nothing in a man is incredibly easy, but to turn his mind to the thoughts of it is incredibly hard. you bring the subject of something he cares for, the people in his life he has forged a "community" with, and have them perform the acts of involvement in his local community. either he likes his community more, or us less. despite our pretension to an archipelago of intellectualism, we are driven chiefly by emotion which is later rationalized, and great meaning is derived out of feeling involved and valued with your physical community.

I couldn't even get a job at McDonald's. The whole job thing is really weird. You have to go there and beg for a job, like it's something everyone wants to do. That happens because even if I don't do it, someone else will.
Anyway, you can work if you want. I'd rather just sit here on 4chan. I don't even like people on the internet and meeting them in real life would be worse.

I did say society is poorly managed, so why did you have to say it again? It's because you're unintelligent, and that's why you're replying me. Reply after the hide, keep in mind I don't have a second thread, and most of the board is filtered. That's likely why people desperately reply to me.

I have no idea what Urban Planning is, but my advice to you is ask your teachers what your chances of getting a job upon completion is. Hopefully they can reassure you that you aren't wasting your time.
Even if it's just the fact that you have friends, it would be worth continuing. That kind of thing can lead to employment.

I guess we're all different, but loathe the idea of getting up and heading straight to work. I like to give myself a good 90 minutes (if I don't keep ignoring the alarm), make my coffee, sit in front of the pc and see what's happening on 4chin, make brekkie and then spend the 10 minutes driving in. This was also true when I worked graveyard, working from 11pm until 7am, and I personally loved that lifestyle, it's always so easy for me to sleep in the afternoon. It's just a pain in the arse sometimes if you're not a complete loner with the random family obligation or appointment.
>>
>>695182263
Back when I had a 9 to 5 I would hurry home at round 6~7h, go straight to vidya and eat while playing until like 3am, sleep until 8am and do it all over again. Sad existence to be honest. Gladly I became an artist now I work from home and play vidya whenever I want.

But then one wouldn't be neet in the first place if that was the case.
>>
My circadian rhythm is so shot at this point I don't even know how I do it anymore. Yesterday I laid in bed for 20 hours, didn't sleep for 20 hours, but just laid in the bed. When you go work in the evening and come home in the early morning; it's hard to regulate your sleep cycle. I usually stay up till 7AM or 8AM, then sleep till it's time to go to work and do it all over again.

It does suck though because like OP, I rarely have energy, or the desire to play a video game. I have things to play, but I'd rather just shitpost and browse the internet for 6-7 hours instead of playing a game. I don't even feel depressed, so I'm not sure how to describe it. I tend to drink an energy drink late into my shift and that gives me a boost, but even when coming home I'll still just do anything else rather than play a video game. It's not so much that I lack the "energy" to play video games, more like I have no desire to play them, which is depressing to think about. Shitposting on 4chan and surfing the internet are more entertaining to me.

I might be developing seasonal depression desu, I really hate the holidays. It's a depressing time of year for me personally, and I don't like how the public acts during the holidays. My mother hates her in-laws, we gotta go see them and she's going to bitch about it like she's done for the last 15 years, etc.

I somewhat envy that. I honestly wish I could read 100 pages a night of a book, it's probably more relaxing/healthy to do that as a hobby than sitting in front of the computer and playing video games for 6-8 hours.

I once sat down and made a list of books I wanted to read, and last time I attempted to read in bed I got so sleepy and went straight to sleep. Other anons have told me not to read in bed, but it's really the only place I'd feel comfortable reading.

I won't have very much left to make me happy at this point. I'll have to find new things and replace it, which sucks. Oh sure, I'll get eight hours of sleep, be fully hydrated on water, and eating salads and meat and shit like that, but it won't make me happy. "Oh, but you'll feel so much better when you're skinny and healthy, anon!" Will I? Truly? Compared to shoveling Mcdonalds in my mouth and living how I want? Is that really better?

I'm considering doing walks around my apartment complex, already see some tenants do that anyway and we have an uphill area that will give me extra calorie burning I suppose. I'm not sure yet, but it'd be cheaper and less stressful than getting a gym membership. I can just casually walk around the complex for free for like 30 minutes a day, and I already do a lot of walking at my job anyway. Really, I probably don't even NEED to walk every day, since I walk plenty at work. The main focal point would be changing my diet, if I ate healthier and stuck with it, I'd probably just shed a lot of weight after 6-8 weeks. The problem is eating correctly and actually sticking with it, even one cheat day can ruin it, but it's tough for me. You crave fast food or something greasy and you have to tell yourself not to get it.

My most embarrassing diet story is essentially one time I went to the gym at the first of the year, it was so fucking crowded I ended up just leaving and went and got a large pizza for myself. I just was like "Fuck this shit." It's like the alcoholic relapsing after one day of AA.

>>
>>695197172
It has to come naturally via learning to cook. After maybe a decade of cycling healthy foods and slop, i no longer crave slop that much anymore. A good quick fried eggs in some high fiber toasted tortillas with some leafslop and hot sauce is delicious and easy and healthy. Same with meats in general, i love beef patties or making soups. Just toss in broccoli in there for the veggie. Id have to pay some diner that is 45m driving away $15 for any of that and too not be exactly to my taste still.

I still do occasionally eat slop it still tastes good but its more just a nice alternative from time to time to add more variety. I never order desserts anymore though slice they're concentrated gigaslop. Going out with a friend I'll still gladly eat some fast food no complaints. I think part of it is your stomach just needs to get used to the new food, as it is with any new good.

Hmm? 5m for the pan to hit max heat and you to crack/beat the eggs, place the oil to sizzle. Eggs get cooked almost instantly, like 30s, turn heat off and flip, unless your pan is huge then no flip needdd. and no i don't burn them at all otherwise they'd be bland. Where are the extra 10m coming for you?
>>
>>695198476
I use a nonstick pan and butter, since oil gets everywhere and cooking spray apparently ruins nonstick pans. Granted, my pan is a bit fucked up, it has an upper dent in the middle and now things lean one way. Either that or it's the stove top's burner.
>>
>>695198879
Must be a burner issue, i figure any pan should distribute heat in its base easily enough in a burner and as non-cast iron. Butter browns/ burns at high enough heat so if you're never getting that maybe that's the sign.
>>
Is this the blog thread? I have a lot of shit going on, never in the mood to play video games for more than an hour or so, and then it's just Mahjong. I was really excited for Elin and I bought that shit day one and got tired of it just a day later.

You don't have to read any of this, I just want to write it out to get it out of my head.

I'm in my final year of university for a degree in industrial engineering and I got married in May this year. I used to work in a kitchen up until last week but it's thankless, shitty work that also impedes my learning efforts. At this time I am costing off of a bit of savings, student and credit card loans and I'm getting my last paycheck in a week.
I need a part time job ASAP that will hopefully turn into a fulltime position in September, when I will be done with my degree, but I've been just so busy with lab work that I can't find the time to apply for jobs. At least that's what I tell myself, since I'm obviously on 4chan right now wasting my precious time.

It's obvious what I need to do:
Do whatever I need to do to not fail out of class
Keep applying for jobs

And that's it.

Because they're stupid and don't care. They're just mad and want the problem fixed and will metaphorically bash their head against the wall until that happens. They won't try to fix it themselves and you don't really want them to because they're so fucking stupid, careless and clumsy that they'd make it worse. The amount of times I have seen people break things instead of taking an extra 2-5 seconds to ensure that thing doesn't get broken is astonishing.
We've moved forward as a species but a lot of people are not suited for modern society, they're better off sitting around in a forest breaking open nuts, eating raw meat and dying at 38 after refusing to treat a wound or drinking obviously dirty water. Try to remember that just 15,000 years ago (a blip on the timeline) your co-workers would have worn furs and lived in huts and that amount of time isn't really enough for evolution to make them any smarter.

What do you mean by PTC? Also paperwork is pretty manageable at least the public school where I teach. I get to decide what exactly gets graded so for me its not too bad. Your given one period a day of planning I use it for nap time half the time but 45 mins is usually enough for me to grade a full day of assignments. Curriculum maps tend to cover 80% of what I need to prep for class the rest mostly just being throwing together a crappy powerpoint. You also have to make a study plan for the week and submit it which is mildly annoying. Theres not that much student paperwork at all and when I do have to do it its usually like 5mins of my time. We also have teacher work days which are entire paid work days with no kids. I use like 2 hours of it for work and the rest hanging out with the 2 coworkers I like watching movies and BSing. The worst part is managing the students they can be such an insane pain in the ass and its nuts to me since I tend to have the best kids in the school cause I teach AP courses and they are still little assholes 2/3rds of the time.

You almost never interact with the parents. The deans do. Again could just be my school but my interactions with parents is trying to call them to tell them little jose is being a massive asshole and they dont answer or just say "oh ya ill talk to him" and nothing changes its a formality to cover my ass and its pretty rare. I have like 1-2 parent teacher conferences a quarter, almost always with kids who have IEPs. If the kids were more inclined to behave the job would be bordering on S tier. I have a big room to myself, my bosses rarely talk to me, I get effectively free healthcare as an american, I get massively long holidays and the pay is ok I guess. Its just the kids can be such insane headaches. Lucky for like most of them if I tell them "hey if an admin walks in be cool" they actually are so it works out.

Sometimes you THINK you are too tired for gaming, but just boot your game and start playing. The alleged weariness will not matter anymore.

If you didnt go to college for it you need a temp cert which costs about 200 bucks. Youll work on getting a real one once your hired. It also takes several months to process and can be a bit of a pain.

the cope of wageslave is pure delusion. you are working to one day become a neet. retirement is neetdom
you'll just be 40 years late to the party be near death mentally and physically enfeebled

I do what I want when I want and have more money than you. I'm just not stupid to give up literally 3/4ths of my time on earth in order to have the right to exist in society. fuck society

i'm on neetbux but i try to limit how much i play video games to 3 hours at most. i want to be self sufficient, even though i cannot get a wagie job. so i spend 6 hours a day every day doing 3dcg. it is nice not having to rely on appeasing a corporate overlord, and i can adjust my schedule to my preference.

because you earn less than 50% of someone with a bacherlor's working in an industry, duh. and parents used to respect teachers, and problem kids got expelled. now they've been reduced to glorified babysitters and you have druggies and other undesirables in schools.

Uh the pay one isnt quite true. Keep in mind I have like half the year off in terms of work days. If I worked similar hours to my friend my salary would be a bit over 80k a year. I just dont work that many hours. I also have free healthcare which is extremely nice. The others are closer to true though.

It's so funny how NEETs constantly bash workers, but if it wasn't for workers in the first place, they wouldn't have the "luxury" to be NEETs in the first place.

anyone can work construction as long as they're in shape
office work requires years of training, and a single team is responsible for bringing in hundreds of thousands if not millions in revenue, so it makes sense that their share would be larger.

That's a lot of projection. I work hard, but my hours aren't long, I have money and too much time.

>I do what I want when I want
No you don't, you only think you do because you have time. I've spent years being neet too, anon, I'm not trying to take some moral high ground here. I'm not saying that having a job has to equal fulfilment, but was it really a life worth living if in that 40 years time there's nothing to show for what got us there. Just an empty blank slate, and then you suddenly get old.

I'll have you know my words are actually well-meaning, but you do you, anon.
>>

I don't, so I arrange my schedule so the bulk of my weekday off-work hours are before my shifts.

Did any teachers like you? Ask them for job recs

Unless you're literally falling asleep, 9 times out of 10 just booting up the game in the first place clears up the tiredness. I had a lot of trouble just doing nothing in the bed and feeling like shit when I got up 3 or 4 hours later until I used one of those alarm apps that have tasks to make you wake up. Instead of actively getting up I just make an alarm for 5-10 minutes on impulse and then when it goes off I have to get up and get the calculator for the bulletin math problem. A lot of "too tired to get up" is a matter of poor impulse control, so try using it to your advantage
>>
>>695194153
Undergrad major doesnt really matter that much, so long as, like the other anon said, youre making connections. Having a handful of professors to recommend you jobs or write letters for applications gets you pretty far in any field

Most worthwhile hobbies you need money for.
Guess what that means? That means NEETbux won't cover those worthwhile hobbies.

I can't get into it. Every time I start a job I expect myself to be good at it, to never fuck up. The moment I fuck up I panic and want to quit.
I'm not a bad worker and employers always love me but I can't meet my own standards.

Lie. Everyone does. Anyone who says otherwise is literally lying, proving me right.
Just make the lies believable. Don't say you have a Ph.D in Radiology, and then you sit there like a deer in headlights when someone mentions X-Ray. Say something like "I worked 5 years at *place* when you only worked there for 4 years and 9 months"
>>
>>695204342
??? I thought I was voicing discontent? Keeping up with multiple young kids requires a lot of mental bandwidth, and it’s hard trying to establish yourself in your 20s while juggling parenthood. I only include the “worth it” statement in an attempt to make it clear that I’m venting. Two things can be true at once. Love me family. Miss me free time.

Because there are more people than jobs out there. That simply means that some people will not work, even if they want to and try as hard as they can.
This is why companies eventually started to create "bullshit positions", especially for their friends to weasel their way into.

Do everything you can in your power to get a wfh job, it's life changing, I work 3-4 hours a day and still as productive as I was in the office, since I don't actually have to pad out work to fill the time.

The only downside is that salaries tend to be on the lower end because it's usually smaller companies who will adopt working from home, but I'd rather make 60k and have at least another free 6 hours a day than make 100k but having to deal with traffic, office politics and leaving home at 7 am to get home 7 pm.

I admit, I lucked out a bit, I became a programmer in 2018, and by the time the covid bubble burst in 2022 and people started coming back to offices, I was already senior enough to have some leverage in the job market, my other employer wanted to go back in the office, I simply handed my resignation letter and got a new job next month.

tldr if you're a social retard /v/irgin like me, get a wfh job
>>
>>695214126

>>

I think HR people are a lot more willing to trust someone with at least some job experience instead of gambling on someone without any
it also helps that the jobs were similar and I had a legitimate reason for quitting so they probably thought that if I was capable of getting hired for the same position elsewhere I would be a good fit for the job
but in the end it all comes down to luck really as the anon above says, as do most things in life

>close coworker friend now in "I would die for this guy" friendship/loyalty tier in my mind and heart
>days away from moving (with his help) to a city 4 hours away to a 1 bed 1 bath apartment 5 minutes walk from my new workplace making me enough money to finally stay alive on my own
>today's my last day before I am laid off from my current job
>new job starts in 2 weeks, NEET until then
>everything arranged and expenses paid for with my own saved money
>no car so still need to figure out bus system and enduring money spent on Uber to key places
>still need to change my address on all the important sites and systems and ID/passport
>still need my own phone plan
>still need to watch myself like a hawk to avoid anything getting me fired at work
>still need to save money to pay off the credit card debt my greedy family caused under my name and ruined my credit with
>still need to save money to complete the student loan payments
>still need to work to overcome that black and acidic lump of stress and trauma located somewhere in my chest and built up over 28 years
>but the longed-for freedom is suddenly becoming reality
>my mom and aunt might eventually become homeless and actually begin to suffer in their lives for all they've done to me
Can it be true? Am I actually making it? Will I be able to accomplish my humble and simple goal of travelling the world to personally visit my dozen closest friends I've made from this site over the past 10 years?
