A lot of the games I always wanted to play are borked on Linux. I live in a condo and don’t have a TV and console, nor do I intend to buy one. I used to have a rig 14 years ago but I’d rather have a small device that I can easily take with me. UMPC’s could have made lan popular again if there were games to play but everything is single player now. I never heard that games weren’t working on it. My steam deck is docked 95% of the time so I’d use the ally x mostly as a desktop. I would hope it could run destiny 2.

Yeah, I think several of my characters I played the entire time on deck in cyberpunk.
Elden ring I wasn't quite as happy with but I definitely used the deck for it every now and then.

Honestly with how far APU's have come in efficiency and graphical power if your video game is so poorly optimized that it can't run on a Deck LED or OLED even on low settings with a capped frame rate then it's either a technical marvel that justifies needing a beefy rig or more likely is the case that it's just a shit game coded by baboons not worth investing time and energy into.

Also it's just nice being able to game without being glued to a desk honestly, I'll gladly take the tech downgrade again since I've actually played a good chunk of my Steam and GoG games I wouldn't have actually touched otherwise.

How? It's a literal Windows PC in a handheld format, if there's anything it has over the Deck, it's compatibility. Every day I just get more and more the impression the Deck is nothing but a cult built around it because muh Valve.
