Hey Anon.. When did you top caring about Halo?
Why are we here?
>>695186140After i beat halo 3. couldnt even tell you why really. i tried playing some of the later ones but the only one i finished was odst.
>>695186140After 3, universe isn't really interesting outside the flood and the human covenant war.
>>695186140>topDON'T MIND IF I DO. PLAP PLAP PLAP PLAP GET HALO GET HALO
it's signed by korporal dick gozinya... wait a second, corporal isn't spelled with a K!
after bungie was done
I played the Bungie Halo games, loved them all. Felt like the Reach ending was a solid conclusion for the franchise and never cared about anything that was made after.
I still do enjoy replaying the old games, but the moment I heard that Halo 5 didn’t have split screen coop I didn’t even bother buying it.
>>695186140After beating Halo 4 on the Master Chief Collection. They ruined the whole Forerunners being implied to be ancient humans and changed it to some other dumb shit. Didn't like the new enemies or story. Gameplay was serviceable I guess, but I don't remember much besides the lame guns.
after 4. Should've been after CE:A but I let them fool me twice.
Halo Reach. I didn't hate it like some people, I just never got into 4 or whatever else has come out since.
>>695186308This. But sangheli women.
>>695186140I came to Halo 2 and 3 for that lonely alien planet exploration in 1 and didnt find it. ODST scratched it a bit.
Halo 4 was the last one I actually played. The beginning of the end was the day they added Xbox Live private party chat. I fired up BTB to find some fun people to later join for customs, only to find every single one of the 15 other players in various private calls. Then the next lobby was the same, and the next, and the next. Then my friend from school invited me to his party chat, I join and it's 4 guys all playing different games while listening to each other breathe. People did use party chat a bit less once the newness wore off but the game's irreverent easy-going social atmosphere never really recovered from that addition.
>>695186140I played Reach and remember thinking it was okay. Played Halo 4 with a friend and don't really remember it much at all outside of the intro and never figuring out why we were fighting the Covenant again. Couldn't even understand what the new villain was saying during his big reveal. Never really touched the series again after that.
>>695186140After I finished InfiniteI mean don't get me wrong, I finished Infinite, which is more than I did for 5, but I'm not interested in whatever update or sidestory expansions they release now
>>695186246This. I think I played Reach and ODST at my friend's, but with 1-3 I was happy.
>>695186140I shipped out to fight some aliens, and then all of a sudden master chief wins the war and now we're in this canyon fighting some blue guys.
>>695186140because it peaked
>>695186140Halo 5
>>6951861403, reach was casual as fuck but fun so I knew it was over after it
>>695189808Red vs. Blue might not have been extraordinary comedy genius, but it had a such a nice comfy vibe to it. Shame it ended after 5 seasons
The day I played an FPS on a PC
Playing 3 was fun, couch co-op with my cousin and brother. 4 came out and everything was online and nobody felt like playing at the same time. Never played 5 or anything later
>>695186140I'm still interested, but in fleeting ways that only pop up maybe once every few years since the games are no longer good enough to carry investment
When 4 was released dashing any hope of the series being in good hands after Bungie handed the IP to Microsoft
>>695186140I still play Halo MCC online multiplayer
>>695186140The only Halo games I like are 1 and ODST. I don't know what that says about me.
>>695186140I was pretty much done after 3 but did a run in reach. Saw my friend play halo 4 and knew it was done for. >>695190264honestly I can accept seasons 6-10, even 11. But good fucking god whatever the fuck 12 was doing was some of the hottest dogshit ive ever seen. I went from watching on release for nearly a decade to just dropping it in the middle of an episode and never even going back to their site. I cant imagine how much more shitty it got after i gave up
after Halo 4. Last Halo game I played or pre-ordered / played the day it came out. Never played 5. Never played Halo Wars 2. Never played Infinite. I know they exist I'm just not interested anymore. I mean technically I guess I did play the master chief collection too, but mostly that was just so I could replay 1, 2, 3, ODST and Reach.
Side note: i was slightly disappointed halo 2s story had the twists and turns it did, i was hoping it would mostly be defending earth from covenant and not going to other halo rings for whatever reason. The e3 trailer was kino as fuck btwhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9i-4foLur0g
>>695192573You got that mystical autism or somethingI can't even be mad about this what the fuck
After 3I finished the fight
>>695186140Roosterteeth got woke and went broke
>>695187441>No female aliens in all the gamesBit gay.
>>695193891I couldn't finish 3. The jackel snipers were too hard on Heroic, even when I used mouse controls. I just watched a speedrun instead.
>>695192702Infinite's campaign is fun. It's a shame it got overlooked because all anyone cared about was the MP being bland.
>>695186140When I saw it wasn’t getting any better after 4. Still play the old campaigns now and again and I’ll always hold a special place in my heart for Halo but I’ve pretty much accepted it’ll never be good again
>>695195518even if the gameplay itself is fun (wouldn’t know as I haven’t played it myself) the campaign itself is also quite bland. bossfights in Halo are pretty much always shit and as soon as I heard it was open world I knew it wouldn’t work
>>695186140After it peaked with Reach. It was clearly the send off. Objective: Survive was metsphysical.
>>695195645I didn't see it as bland. The movement options were fun. Many of the bosses require advanced techniques to kill. They even removed the Hunter dance so that the Hunters are actually difficult now.
>>695186140When I tried playing the Halo 2 PC port.
>get caught up in Gaylo Dick-in-it hype cycle>marathon MCC up to 4>never finish 4's campaign because it sucks ass>finally play Infinite>multiplayer's buggy and kinda bland but the campaign should be amaz>campaign is dogshit and I can't finish it>finish some audiobooks I had started listening to to during the hype cycle>try to get back into Infinite a few times after the first season and can't find any motivation to do so>everytime I peak back in it at Halo out of curiosity I am vindicated in dropping the franchiseOf course I might boot up MCC again and read some of the classic Halo books, but otherwise? Shit's as dead to me as Star Wars. Halobros I am so fucking sorry that this is what the series has become.>>695195518I feel the exact opposite. Open world was a mistake but even if it was linear something about the gameplay just felt off. And the story is really bad but it's still the best 343 has written, which is almost impressive.>>695195518
>>695186140I still remember the time when you were laughed off /v/ for mentioning Halo aka consoleturd kid's first 3d shooter.
>>695195853What gets me is that there's still the occasional book or art piece or whatever else that proves they're capable of putting out good shit, they just can't pull it all together into a good gameInfinite improved a lot from their previous games, but it's still held down by weird ass gameplay decisions and a dog ass plot, despite being effectively a soft reboot allowing them to do whateverAnd I can't even use that as a barometer for how the next game will be, because the dev team's been gutted and most of the leadership got cycled out, so who the fuck knows how that'll turn out
>Halo 2 is 20 fucking years old>MCC is 10 years old>There hasn't been a good mainline Halo since 2007It's so fucking over. When I was an autistic middle schooler I played Halo CE so much I know the whole game like the back of my hand. I can literally play it in my head when I'm on a long flight or something. It's genuinely depressing what the series has become. Its flame will never be rekindled. It was destined to die with a series of whimpers, and never with a bang. What a shame.
Does anyone want to play some halo ctf some time later?
>>695186140reachthe only thing i liked in halo 4 was SWAT weirdly
>>695195468>The jackel snipers were too hard on Heroic, even when I used mouse controls.christ man maybe turn based games are more your speed
>>695186140Halo 4. The drops and movement were too much. A lot of shitters hate on infinite for the abilities but most of the game types didn't even have them except for like sprint. Big team battle was always a sperg fest, infinite actually fixed it with invasion where you had to do the objective.
>>695195468>Heroic>Halo 3Lmao. They still take 2 shots to kill you.>>695197672Are you confusing Infinite and Reach
>>695195518The thing is the mp and gameplay felt the best since reach. It just needed a few more weapons, more maps and a couple better game types for matchmaking. But instead they focused on skins and other shit, that killed the initial hype. Whoever was the director for development was just a massive retard
>>695197710>Heroic>Halo 3>They still take 2 shots to kill you.You want to bet on that?
>>695197710Oh woops yeah I meant reach
>>695197756I'll take $50 paid to my paypal, thankshttps://youtu.be/Atjd7af-xQ4?si=_k07RWu_I9Tb7Nat&t=562
>>695186140Stop caring about new releases? Two weeks after Halo 4 came out and 17 year old me learned the difference between publisher and developer. Stop caring about Halo? Never. Will always love the Bungie titles. My best friend and I have a tradition of playing co-op CE - Reach on Heroic every year in November.
Frank ruined halo
>>695197876Doesn't count because it wasn't a headshot.
Halo 3 was special man. My favorites were ghostbusters, jenga, halo on halo, fat kid on chubby stadium, quantum v2, 30 days of night, left4dead, smear the queer, poop chute, duckhunt, and there was an infection game on the Pit where you could teleport to the top of the map and there was a bunch of guns but I forget the name.
