I am completely indifferent to this franchise. There is nothing about it that looks remotely appealing to me, but it seems competent enough to satisfy people who think the dinosaur robots are cool. I find it annoying how hard Sony keeps pushing it while ignoring all their franchises I actually care about, but that's a problem with the company, not the game itself.

>>695202784Fighting the dinosaur robots is the best part and it's surprisingly done very well, especially on higher difficulties. You can play like a ninja when fighting them and see that the team actually put a lot of effort in making the fghts entertaining. It's just that everything else is mediocre or just sucks; except for Sylens, the best character in the series but Lance Reddick went and died so the only good character is gone too.

The idea of dinosaur robots does absolutely nothing for me, I saw plenty of people saying the designs looked amazing when the game was first announced but to me it just seemed really fucking stupid. Maybe the combat is amazing but considering I hate monster hunter, which is the usual point of reference people give for the combat, I really doubt I'd enjoy it.

>>695197791I gave up soon after the point when you get out of the valley and the map starts opening up.I was enjoying it, I liked that combat is status focused and not really just raw stats, but then I went on holiday and when I came back I lost all desire to play.I think because when I thought about it my last memories were of the guy telling me that he'll be all over the world if I want to take down more bandit camps, and the other guy telling me to find more hunting lodges around the world for more hunting challenges.

Everything about it is just wasted, even the setting is blandsafe so nobody could possibly be offended at what is clearly supposed to be a tribal setting turned into post apocalyptic robots because Skynet has no advocates.

The game itself and the combat is competent, the premise not terrible. But the dialogue is also cringe at worst and flat at best. I couldnt tell you any of the characters besides aloy and the type casted black guy
