What do you think will happen during the new epilogue?
Will the story have a proper conclusion? Will it just be sequel bait for X2? Or will it be a complicated mess trying to tie it with the story of the main trilogy?
>>
>>695225216
I don't care about the ending. They better keep the scene where you allow an alien execution and Elma is happy about it.
>>
>>695225216
Ten extra hours that clear some things up but mostly set up X2.

Most likely.

Likely too.
Basically, we won't know until we get there.

I'm wondering if the new story will be available from the start like FC or need to clear the main game beforehand.
Guess it depends on whether it's a new area in the overworld, or intergated into the already existing continents.

It doesn't seem like to be a FC/Torna/FR deal.

I think they'll end up confirming the black knight is the unnamed hero/Elma's japanese bf, Cross is a J-Body like Yelv, and that the planet itself is storing/facilitating the transfer of data (already known given it auto-translates for everyone).

Beyond that, I don't think it'll fully answer things and will leave things open but in a more "a sequel might answer this" than "this is simply kept open" way.

I hope there is no connection between X and the number series. It makes it more unique.

I haven't played x so i'm talking out of my ass,
but If the ending is a "we're stuck in limbo" type thing how are you guys expecting a proper conclusion to the story
>>
>>695225216
It'll reveal that Mira is an artificial man-made planet the humans of the previous universal instance (Samaarians) used to hide the literal Deus Ex Machina that had once saved their life, Origin. L'cirufe will be revealed to be a Moebius-like construct of Origin, the "consciousness of Mira" if you will. His aloof personality, his curiosity for other cultures and desire to always learn more and connect with others reflect Mira/Origin's desire to break its solitary confinement and draw others to its orbit.
The epilogue will end with BLADE finding out their soul data was recorded in Origin and figuring out a way to disable the forcefield around Mira, putting it back into "normal space", ending on a new cliffhanger where Mira gets immediately surrounded by a fleet of Ghost ships.
>>
>>695235776
I know. And there were also some vague hints on some of the garbage collector guys side quests as well as in that one side quest with the bug guys involving the telethia. Still, keep it vague, not outright make them related
>>
>>695229872
It'll probably act like an MMO expansion, i.e. new post-game content directly integrated into the game.
What I wonder is if they'll change the level cap.
>>
>>695235775
They only said "new story content" without specifying to it could be the latter, or if not entire chapters at least additions here and there. They've shown the scene from the epilogue because they know that's what fans wanted to see, but I feel like they would've outright mention to only expect an epilogue like Xenoblade DE if that's all it was.
>>
>>695233435
Meaningless. Bionis and Alrest were also an alternate universe.
>>
>>695236145
They're stuck in limbo "right now" and are looking into the reason why. They could meet someone involved in their current situation and discover how to change it, for instance.

Didn't they already said they were interested in making a sequel for X?
>>
>>695225216
An X2 is definitely not happening because they're moving the series in a new direction with the next new game. They will probably explain what's going on with Mira and why humans are the forebearers to the alien species that want them exterminated. They might will probably tie it into the rest of the series somehow either vaguely or explicitly. At the very least probably explain that Earth wasn't destroyed and when the Conduit was activated it messed with their memories and sent them into a pocket dimension of Mira or something and they figure out a way to get out an back to the normal universe.

Ending was literally
"It's something about this planet" after finding out that all of their databases containing their consciousness', memories, personality, etc, has actually been destroyed (they are inhabiting artificial bodies since they didn't know if their real bodies would survive in space for a long period of time) so it's impossible that they are still "alive" in their fake bodies
Then it cuts to some guy who just fell into protoplasmic fluid, became some Chimera monstrosity and was defeated but is somehow completely fine and is chilling on a beach?

this + the fact that different alien races that have never been in contact before can communicate with no problems in Mira in what sounds like their own languages to each other, so the planet is not just keeping them alive in circumstances where it shouldn't be possible, it's deliberately intervening to allow different sentient species to communicate and organize

The fact they're coincidentally bringing back the Siren model kit alongside the ones from X leads me to believe it's likely to be this. Yeah, they could just be doing it because money and 2 is the most popular game but still they could have just left it at the dolls.

X had a few references to 1 like Telethia or Tatsu mentioning Frontier Village, but nothing that major just yet.
The biggest evidence for MS wanting to tie X into the trilogy is the meme radio scene in 3's DLC, which explicitly mentions the Earth Colonization Project from X. It also namedrops a character from Saga and has a legally-safe nod to Gears, so it's up to intepretation how much of it is meant to be a hint to the future and how much is just silly references.
>>
>>695242123
The DLC of Xenoblade 3 namedrops the colonization project in a scene set on Earth, but it also makes various Xenosaga references so it might just be fanservice.

It's just Isaac Asimov's Nemesis. A telekinetic planet with an atmosphere-wide shared consciousness. I really struggle to imagine how this game could possibly have a sequel unless they pull new Mira continents out of their ass. I don't think they put much thought into this concept when they initially made the game.
>>
I’ve said this before, but Xenoblade 3 showed that after generations of crossbreeding, all the fantastical races from 1 and 2 eventually turn into regular humans. So why couldn’t this be true for X’s races as well? That could be the real way for humans to come back in X, by having all the Prone/Orpheans/Manon etc interbreed into normal humans, eventually
>>
>>695246398
You don't explore the whole surface of the planet, the edges don't wrap around. There were more continents in concept art too, they could do it.
>>
>Will the story have a proper conclusion
Why do people ask this? This is from the guy who revealed that Xenogears is "episode 5 of a 6 episode saga", in the late 90s when Star Wars was developing its episodic prequels to its original episodic trilogy. This is from the guy who released Xenosaga: Episode I. This is from the guy who really likes sci-fi and wants to do a long-spanning science fiction space opera.

Xenoblade X is an EPISODE of a larger narrative, it ended on a cliffhanger. Do you think the new content is going to add a final fight that solves all the lore, deals with the Ghost, Ganglion, and Samaarians, and leaves no mysteries? It was never going to be self-contained.

They just need to explain that earth was teleported and where the aliens were when Klaus clicked the conduit button. Everything else don't matter because it isn't even earth anymore. Even in Xenoblade 1 it looked like the universe exploded but actually just earth disappeared into a pocket dimension. It's all a matter of perspective.
>>
>>695246398
New continents, ancient structures arriving from the ocean, time travel, sky areas, underwater exploration, space battles, new human/alien colonies either built during the gap between games, virtual reality simulators, follow other surviving ships, there are tons of possibilities.

Random thought.
In the original version, you had 8 voices per gender for Cross in JP, but only 6 in the EN release.
Now on the Switch, chances are the game will be a single SKU, which means both EN and JP languages will be in the same cartridge, and you can easily swap between them by changing your system language.
Given that, do you think they'll add 2 new voices for Cross in EN? Or remove 2 voices from the JP Cross.

Apparently, in the japanese version they even say that the rest of the land/population was transferred to a singular other dimension instead of implying multiple like this did.

So on the rest of Earth's end, it would look like one city just popped out of existence when Klaus made the XB1/XB2 pocket dimensions, while everything else for them stayed the same.

If it was the same Earth as XBX, I could see it making enough sense that since the government was all-in on planet evacuation but also only for well-connected families, they probably kept the real purpose under wraps and let the world go to as much shit as it is in XB3:FR's flashback since they were busy getting ready to ditch Earth. Then Klaus's experiment happens sometime before aliens ever arrive.

That's mainly just if they felt like tying it together, no real need to do so but if they do, all it does is point out Klaus really was nobody until he made his own universes.
>>
>>695247551
People seem to want more guest voices from one of the other games like the ones we already have with Shulk's and Fiora's so maybe the devs will add one or two extra and with it I hope the localization uses the opportunity to correct their laziness and add the missing ones alongside the extra ones.

"Humans" in X are the most interesting version of humanity in scifi I've seen. Mostly because from an outside perspective all the other aliens have, humans are a race of robots in bodies far more advanced than their technological expertise, acting out like they're organic, wildly impulsive, yet constantly trying to integrate other societies into their single foothold dwelling they've got on the planet. And still somehow being the social glue between the other races.

There's ambiguity in the Japanese version because Japanese doesn't use plurals

Klaus says
>私が[ゲート]扉を開いたことで多くの人やものが遙か彼方の次元へと消えていった
>Translation: Because I had opened the Gate, many people and things disappeared to (a) distant dimension(s)
>Localization: When I opened the Conduit, many people and many things... disappeared, into distant dimensions.
He also uses the old outdated kanji 遙 in 遥か彼方, but that may just be a stylistic choice to emphasize how old he is

Based on what he said before
>我々の世界は一つだけではない
>多くの世界が 互いの存在を知覚せぬまま重なり合って併存している
>Translation: Our world is not the only one. Many worlds, not perceiving each other's mutual existence, overlap and coexist.
>Localization: Our world was not the only one. Endless universes coexist, side by side, yet all completely unaware of one another.

I think based on the context of that sentence, mutual dimensions is a fair assumption. If he wanted to specify it being a particular far-off dimension, they could have written ある遥か彼方の次元
>>

Also I want to alter my translations slightly
>Because I opened the Gate, many people and things had disappeared to (a) distant dimension(s).

He also speaks in old Japanese when he uses 知覚せぬ instead of 知覚せない
