I am playing D4 now (have played it before, but did not finish it) and this is the problem - if you pick / apply Welcome Back boost, you will also automatically unlock ALL Lilith temples (God knows why) and you can't erase it. I also do not understand why it's not possible to delete everything and start the game from nothing.

On one-hand i've been REALLY hankering to play a fast-paced ARPG diablo-like since D2/3, that has a somewhat serviceable story and good loot/dopamine hits but idk with all the negativity around it and endgame viability, 'big hmm'.

With Warhammer 3 and all the recent updates/fixes along with the new DLC release soon I'd like to finally bite the bullet on it after so long.

The best decision they've made was to go back to D3 and just embrace the arcadey gameplay. Then they fail at the execution of that and release what is probably the least purchased ARPG expansion of all time. When normie CohhCarnage is shitting on your new expansion, it's time to abandon whatever your stupid plans are and just give fans what they are asking for, which is a Paladin class and Diablo himself as a damn boss.

So the next thing to point and laugh at is how badly they fuck that up. The best thing they can do is release the paladin for free and promise Diablo in another expansion, but I doubt that'll happen.

PoE2 and D4 play the opposite of each other. PoE2 is trying to be some combo of souls slop mechanics and typical ARPG gameplay, but slowed down to tedious and having unrewarding loot drops.

D4 has at least been out long enough to develop an identity current players enjoy and most of the "D4 bad" comments are all based around launch D4, which is nowhere completely different now. PoE2 may be good after at least 3-6 months when they've developed more of it, but for right now its meh and just stressful to play.

D4 is now "okay", but its too easy to kit out and rarity just isn't a concept, you are showered in only things your class can use, and showered in loads of "rare" shit at all times.

I think the issue with D4 is that its built around assuming you don't have too much time to dedicate to it with how many choices or lifestyle obligations that come up. If you had to redo a long gearing sequence up every 3 months you'd get burnt out from it fast. I'm not sure how PoE players would drag themselves through that campaign a second time, let alone on every new league. I think they implemented leveling to 300 and the level 100 paragon nodes as means to keep progressing for an extended period beyond minmaxing GA stats.
