The "the joke is that there are no lyrics" punchline gets weaker the more times we use it in the same year.

Syllables. Literally just counting numbers that tend to be single digits. 2. Rhymes. They're really good at making our brains tickle so we want them in music.3. Stresses. They are on a more complex layer but they do matter. Record for example is 2 different words, one is a type of document/account of things, and the other is the act of recording. You can easily tell the 2 words apart by if it is said REcord or reCORD. If you have a song that says REcord and you replace the lyric with reCORD it will sound wrong because the stresses are wrong now, your singer will either sound like they said the other record or the music will be stressed differently than the original.
