According to my opinion, any song about video games, a video game character, something related to specifically /v/ board culture (for example ENTER Chads of /a/ has lyrics explicitly about the way that DBS memes became prevalent on /v/) or one of the /v/-adjacent boards such as /vg/, board culture that relates to all of 4chan but is also seen on /v/, another video game platform that a /v/ anon might use (such as the Steam boards or Miiverse), a particular platform, or the video game industry at large including related industries (like journalism or channels for fabricating PC parts) should be allowed.

I think it's fine if a specific video game or meme gets 10+ songs. I do think it would behoove anons to try to think of fresh takes and jokes, however. For example, last year's My Immortal parody for Feed and Sneed took on a new parallel of a poster who doesn't want to find it funny and wants to dislike it but finds it funny against themself and laughs nonetheless, which is a fresh and amusing take. We can have a million Five Nights at Freddy's or mascot horror songs as long as they (in my opinion) do different things. I don't know enough about the franchise, but with so many different games, I think we could discuss the gameplay differences, new plot developments, or fandom changes without resorting to a song where the only real joke is that people over exaggerate the responses of how scary they are. This isn't an indictment of the song posted above. I think that song is catchy and fun, and the spoken intro is a cool gimmick. This is just a general thought on the whole "what if X game has too many songs?" thing.

We are inherently a passion project about anons making music together, it's laid out clearly in the OP itself. Asking if AI belongs is no less silly than asking the mattress store owner about their dog food prices.

The point is to not allow any rot. A song or two DOES hit the scales when next year retards literally link the wikipedia article for precedent like some moron did last thread, and then the year after that now it's just the new normal forever. If we reject 2 pieces of rot in a year and only have 138 songs instead of 140, the musical will be better off for it in the long run. Most people underestimate their singing talents, it wouldn't hurt to try it on a simple song. There are simple ones like Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Theme on the sheet that you might already know anyway and need little practice for. A little time checking youtube videos on quick tips could be plenty to start on a simple song, and once you do 1 it only gets easier as you gain practice.

I already have the chorus change between the 1st and 2nd time when in the original song it's the same every time, and I even put in the post that I think it makes sense to cut the song short if the singfag or editor does. I don't think it'll feel repetitive at all if it's just 2 or 3 total choruses, especially with a variation.

I don't want to sound dismissive, I'm all for suggestions on line improvements if you have any at all. There's not that many lines to work with and a fair amount of them are supposed to be repeats of previous lines, like like 6 is line 1+2 combined so I worked around that when deciding how the story would flow. I kept the car joke because I felt like the "you wouldn't download a car" meme was not only a good reference to pull but also a perfect segue into the singer deciding to "go to the dark side" due to the context of the meme.

I think the added storytelling would have to be pretty darn good to justify that. The flow and repetition is what makes it music and not poetry after all. The catchiness would drastically decrease if it didn't have any repetition.
I trusted most anons to have the media literacy to understand the singer was at first uninterested in cunny, due to the entire first chorus being dedicated to conveying this repeatedly by saying:

The only part cut short is the extra copies of the chorus, there's not really room to do much extra storytelling there because it's 1 2 2 1 2 2 format and it should still be recognizable as the chorus. last year we had 2 evanescence song parodies that went the silly route and pulled it off. 1 was a fucking sneed song about the singer being depressed they found sneed funny. The other was a melodramatic song about the PS5 Pro being too expensive but not doing anything. They both worked great because the lyrics made it feel like the singer took the topic seriously, but the listener is able to appreciate the humor in the singer taking such silly things seriously. That's the 1 tip I have for you in the end, if the instrumental is too serious for your topic, then make the punchline that the singer of the parody is over-dramatic in some way.

Musical numbers are always tough sells. I like writing them by they are by far the most likely to sit on the sheet the full month with 0 comments positive or negative. Even writing them when people specifically request them has a shockingly low rate of completion in my experience. If they weren't also one of the hardest to write it wouldn't be so bad, but writing long tracks for multiple characters in a way that is entertaining is so much harder than just parodying some radio hit or cartoon theme song.

for an ensemble piece someone really needs to get the ball rolling. and after failing a few times it's hard to find that motivation to try again when solo recordings come with none of the headaches. all the huge collabs of recent years have had to struggle a lot to get off the ground but as long as someone is willing to be its shill they tend to come together at the end if they're halfway there already.
