They didn't need to add the whole fake identity thing but I guess that's the theme they were going for: lies and fiction, and the message is more about how you feel towards fictional characters and their influence, but it could still be the vehicle to say "you should feel sorry for them even if they are fictional so stop asking for more Danganronpa", or it could also be a pure shock-factor twist considering they don't actually keep the sentiment. They are still making survival murder games after that, and then ironically goes back to Danganronpa.I just wish they could've put a better twist that truly can conclude the series for good instead of making it look like it's spitting on the fanbase and with literally "fake" characters.
