Played Silksong first then tried out Hollow Knight.

How come the abyss is scarier in the first game? I'm now a void creature this place is supposed to feel like home. Yet the design and ambience feel more hostile and creepy than the abyss in Silksong despite it being a much more dangerous and alien place to Hornet.

I just use Webms for Retards and give it a set bitrate depending on the length, you can also dynamicly trim it, we don't need to see the first 14 seconds because it's just the intro and you can still have the ending to show it's on Radiant

You have to do 3x as many hits to heal once in Silksong. You can also use Shape of Unn to move while healing. All you need is Isma's Tear to get it, meaning you just need to defeat Dung Defender, an early game boss.
>>
>>722623241
you can use poison tacks and sawblades to cheese if you want. throw on some lifeblood for good measure.

>>722621019
Despite all the complaints none of Silksong's bosses are harder than NKG + PV + AbsRad. Silksong's problem is that you're facing 90% of the bosses when you're still in early game or mid game gear, so they seem hard because you're used to the knight's endgame gear. But if you played the Silksong bosses in its godhome equivalent with endgame gear and upgrades you'd see they're not that difficult in the end.
>>
>>722623241
For seth when he does his shield slam he always follows up with a ground level charge, easiest time to pogo him
>>
>>722620558

>>
>>722622092
Silksong was overdeveloped. Devs should've shoved it out in 2020/2021. The 2019 trailer was remarkably similar to the game we got in 2025.

>>
>>722623021
Silksong bosses are really well designed. Just did my second playthrough for speedrun and first tried lost lace just because he attacks are so well telegraphed that once you learn the movement to avoid and punish each one, the execution just comes really naturally.
Also you can punish the phase 2 white aoe attack with a dash attack as she's landing, and then pogo after I think never gets hit by the tendrils but I don't know if that's 100% consistent

>>722622189
I'd say because in HK it's a huge, huge empty space until you reach the bottom where you see a bunch of corpses, and only then ghosts start to appear. It has a lot of build up for it to feel extremely alien. In silksong its purpose seems more to feel extremely hostile rather than extremely alien; I feel much more tense playing through SS's than HK's consistently, while HK had a much much better first impression but after that it was whatever.
>>

Coral King is easy, but he's a zoner so don't get greedy and just focus on avoiding if you can't find the hits. Always look to get under the jump up down diagonal and in front of the straight up one for the biggest punishes.
Seth is a bit tricky, staying aerial is pretty safe as long as you can react to the slam fast enough to double jump. Don't try to run away as he'll catch you, just play in a small range. When he starts triple slamming, you can go above the first one but it's easiest to just land and dash to avoid the other two. After the slam/triple slam he has a ground attack that he always does that leaves him open for multiple hits.
Karmelita is just a tough boss, so there is a big git-gud factor and tips are only small. Walljump -> double jump puts you high enough that she can't reach so you can nix healing speed/protection and safely heal at the top. You want to stay grounded mostly since her ground combos are the most punishable. Memorize and internalize the pose she makes before she throws her projectiles and always be ready for them as she'll weave them in way more in her final phase. You will get hit once or twice by her spinball, sometimes she just corners you as you jump over a different attack and it's near impossible to avoid fast enough. If you are too afraid of the mixup between her spinball and jumping projectiles, she's got a safe spot from both beneath her (but watch out as she lands). Generally though, other than punishing the dash or if you're forced to jump out of the corner to avoid a grounded attack, you don't want to pogo. Once she corners herself just get close and grounded slash as all of her grounded moves have reactable enough startup to dash away from and you just have to recognize the dash/projectile startup to know to jump while running back. If she does a grounded attack you can just keep attacking after you avoid it with your dashback
>>
>>722624834
you said you didn't see anyone calling it out for being bad so i did my best.

>>722622189
I've been saying this since I beat act 3, the abyss in silksong is a massive fucking disappointment, when I first got there and the diving bell broke I was really feeling that tense atmosphere, as the title of the area dropped I was on the edge of my seat, seeing the new worm enemies and then the fuckhuge guys really drove home how hostile of an environment it was... and then... that's it, pretty much the entire abyss is over, you get a convenient map for it and everything and an escape sequence that felt so contrived and artificial for hornet to escape just as quickly as she got down there, I seriously don't get the praise for that sequence at all, maybe it's just recency bias?

god damn I can't beat this drum enough of how big of a disappointment it was, there's all this mystique to the abyss and we pretty much see nothing of it, just a few lame rooms with like 3 enemy types, one of which was also in HK and just walks back and forth on platforms, fuck it's just so lame, at least in HK you had the light house and the fucking choso statue, we barely get anything in SS, no unique encounters or bosses aside from the final one

they spent all that effort on coral tower only to gut it and put a shit ton of unique enemies in what amounts to a gauntlet/arena and in 7 years they didn't think of putting in the time to work on the abyss a bit further? man what a fucking blue balls experience

>>
>>722625258
i can't relate but i understand what you say. however the escape sequence is a completely different story, i loved it because hornet had just finished saying "i WILL unfuck my fuck up and save pharloom" and the epic abyss escape with the triumphant music felt very heroic, like it was an extremely pivotal point in the plot.
>>
>>722625258
This, I entered the abyss, saw new enemies and thought "Holy shit, they finally got to do the expanded abyss that they couldn't do for Hollow Knight" and then it ended up having basically nothing. The lava escape sequence really doesn't count to me since it's not really an abyss area, but more of a Deep Docks area.
>>
>>722625258
I liked the escape sequence but the abyss itself was a disappointment yes. To a non-void creature it should be a completely alien oppressive confusing place, but the Weavenests felt more like that.
>>
>>722625258
act 3 is scuffed. pointless nameless town platforming, retarded green prince story, very underwhelming abyss.

It's cringe to see all the cut content squashed into dream shit too. hopefully it gets fleshed out

One thing I really liked in the original game is that as you approached important areas of interest the weather and environment would respond to you. Like how in the ancient basin the wind gradually picks up and the infection seeds get faster as they run away from you, but when you pick up the monarch wings everything becomes still and eerily quiet.

Yeah I don't get people complaining about the flying enemies backing off (unless they're going far as fuck out over a massive pit), since it lets you satisfyingly corner them or use your movement abilities to get one over on them which is satisfying gameplay over just slowly walking/drifting into every enemy and they just take it.
The teleporting Verdania enemies can fuck right off though since they throw all that shit out and FORCES you to wait for them to attack to get attacks in

>>
>>722626257
i really don't like the flying enemies because they only become marginally less obnoxious when you get the clawline, but those verdania motherfuckers not only fucking teleport everywhere but won't stop fucking chasing you around if you try to ignore them.

Hit phase 2 yesterday before dying. I'll probably throw myself at it a few more times tomorrow. I play way too passive(I mainly do Reaper hit and run) and not taking advantage of a lot of openings I could be. I can't see mnyself taking more than 2-3 more attempts now that I know what to do though.

I'm replaying Hollow Knight and the entire game feels like it's the exact kind of game anyone could make if given enough time and money. I felt the same the first time I played it and it feels the same way now. The gameplay isn't special, the physics and movement feel fine and tight, the speed of everything is fine, combat is predictable and boring but challenging, the upgrades and progression feel like a good pace. Everything is just safe and amateurish yet very polished, idk how to describe it.
>>
>>722620412
Thanks for highlighting that bosses were damage spongey shit even in HK. Over a minute of just the same 3 moves over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over again. Fight could have been half as long as nothing would have been lost.
>>
>>722627168
Nothing particularly stands out in Hollow Knight (except for the little moments and the atmosphere), but every single aspect of it is consistently good, so the result is more than the sum of its parts. At least that's how I'd explain it. In most other games you have some really really good stuff and then some mediocre or even dogshit aspect.

The Abyss in Hallownest was a carved out area designed to harvest void for the king's use and to serve as the incubation chamber for literally millions of wyrm-tree void babies. The Abyss in Pharloom was the result of some miners digging a bit too far and immediately noping the fuck out, until a few Weavers decided to join the licorice cult.

I think ending the melody collection with the High Halls is the most fitting. I don't think it's a moralizing Religion. It's more like Shintoism or the Greek Pantheon. The underworks wagies are subjected to propaganda telling them that they're sinful and that only through labor can they atone. The entire premise of the slab is that it's a place to lock up sinners. And the whiteward reveals that even dying without permission is a sin.
We also know that they have commandments like not bringing a weapon or fighting on the pilgrimage.
Their religion is very concerned with abiding by a moral code. To a fanatical degree.

>>
>>722635367
well, it is A version of shade cloak.
>>
>>722635406
But the fact that the game can’t count on you to have access to it means it can’t design fights around that assumption. You don’t get stuff like the moving projectile walls that can only be avoided by dodging through them.
>>
>>722634962
The mistake here is thinking the label of "Sin" is an honest one. The "Sin" in Pharloom is transgressing the authority of the Deity. Only it's a very petty OCD Deity whose trying to create and maintain their ideal world, not necessarily for benevolent moral reason but because it's what Silk wants things to be like. Silk isn't building a Religion to honor some sort of underlying moral ideal native to Pharloom, she's just trying to make her Dominion permanent and all encompassing.

No violence or death, just obedience and harmony. You contravene that, even indirectly or incidentally, and you're punished as a Sinner.
>>
>>722633746
How much information flow do you think exists? How many societies do you think have industrialized? Consider that the average bug not in one of the larger tribal societies is basically a middle ages peasant and why they would need more than just the fanciest people they've ever seen, like the ones going out and capturing weaver-kin, to evangelize a little bit and spread the idea of a pilgrimage to a holy city to join in on the idea.
All they need to know is that the citadel is a religious society and it's the greatest fucking place they've ever seen, all white and brass and glass and not just a tent or a cave, and they'd probably subscribe to any rules presented to them without even asking who the big man is on top is. They don't need to know that GMS is a literal god or why the weavers call the shots, because the worth of the society is evident in its splendor.
That's the kind of thing that happens for a religious society when the god is a physical being that lives there. Do you study the exact reasoning and history behind every law passed in the country you live? No, it's just the law
>>
>>722635485
having an i frame dash only inhibits boss design
>>
>>722635101
I like it, I'm glad Silksong is its own thing instead of being a Hollow Knight clone. Hollow Knight designed boss fights based on the player timing their iframes properly, while Silksong designed boss fights based on the player taking advantage of all the mobility options for more hit-and-run gameplay. And, you know, tool spam.
>>
>>722632704
I don't think lace controls anything at all. she's more like one of those doll toys to play mom with
>>
>>722635101
Forced i-frame dodging is boring, because it's the only option so it's just a qte. I enjoy no i-frames much more because avoidance means something and attack patterns need to have a reasonable method of dodging, but if you want to do something interesting just start learning to parry more attacks.
Even though it's just mashing, parrying flurry attacks is a primal satisfaction. Though the mechanic is a bit hard to focus on in the normal gameplay because parrying only affects attacks and not collision, so there's a lot to be explored with how to successfully parry each individual attack without getting hit by collision.

I wonder Witch dash attack can uniquely parry some things without collision since there's like some dinky 4 or so i-frames during the move
>>
>>722635536
That's still a highly moralistic religion. One of the most pressing concerns for the pilgrims, laborers, and the choir is remaining on the right side of their religion's moral code.

Sales pitch: you get iframes on the travel of clawline.

It doesn’t let you dodge through bosses, since you’d make contact and hit them. But it still lets you dodge through projectiles, though the silk spend makes it a bad idea to abuse it whenever projectiles appear, so it’s only wise when you know it’s optimal or required to avoid damage.

I don't think Silk had much if anything to do with the way the current religion is set up, presumably the old statue in the Vaults is from her time and they were advocating asceticism, Whiteward came after and maybe the Underworks too because the Chorus and Cog robots are powered by the fireflies extracted in Whiteward. She did punish people in the Slab but that was presumably only after the Weavers threw their fit if First Sinner is truly the first

Oh, I meant "Moralizing" as in the Religion was not invented with the intent to express a new idea of Right and Wrong for the sake of those virtues in and of themselves. charged attacks kinda suck, you're usually better off not using them, 100% not worth skipping even one normal attack to charge up instead but even just charging attacks while dodging is pretty bad since it disables your pogo and the animation has enough recovery you could have just attacked twice instead for just as much damage and more silk. I haven't tried the architect meme with flintslate though maybe that's good.

Clawline though, yeah you should be using that like every few seconds, basically any situation where you would consider doing a dash attack just use clawline instead, it is strictly better. It's free if it hits an enemy, does the same damage as a needle hit, gives you some iframes, and cancels instantly into movement which cancels into anything else so you can clawline>dash and pass through enemies or clawline>jump>attack and get two hits off almost instantly etc.
Even really good players use it way less than they should be.

As a Pantheonfag that loves bindings, I'm seriously wondering how TC's going to handle tools because they're basically the replacements for Ghost's magic while having a vastly different acquirement mechanic.
And I can't imagine TC would let me run Flint, even if it's limited because of a binding, because it's basically Unbreakable Strength tier in damage

Yes it's a stupid mechanic that serves zero purpose other than to make players dump beads or kill enemies they'd otherwise not kill just to get more shards. You literally already have a way to stop spamming with limited usages, shards are an anti-fun mechanic that adds more injury to losing boss fights and when you do the dream fights and don't have them it's so much better. Even though you can just buy shard packs easily it makes you wonder why the fuck bother at all.

assuming silksong dlcs come to exist some time in the near or far future, what would you have them contain? actual likelihood doesn't matter just what you think would be neat

new areas?
new quests?
new mask shards &/or silk spools?
new tools? new venticrest additions?
new crests?

what would you add?

id say more actual quality void content and some kind of real godhome equivalent at least, curious what y'all think

>New Areas?
Yes. Act 3 suffers from being literal filler trying to pad out boss fights. If the coral tower and the ant kingdom had been structured like Verdania, it would've been infinitely better.
>Quests
Not really. There's enough fetch quests as is, though it is inevitable some will be added if there are more characters added a la Grimm Troupe.
>More upgrades
Unless TC gets a boner for quadruple damage, I think 10 masks and two heals is plenty.
>Tools & venticrest?
Another blue venticrest would be great. However, I think some blue ones should become orange to balance them out instead. There's 3 good orange trinkets (Dice, belt, anklets and maybe barbed wire) and other 3 you use on certain situations (Farming tool, climbing tool, compass). Nothing here contributes towards a build.
>New crests.
Give me the Fencer to larp as Lace crest and the Greatnail crest where you use one half of an oversized scissor.

I would want another needle art like the charge attack that differs between crests
Obviously more crests, there's plenty of room for something more weaver related and maybe some wyrm shit
We NEED more needolin mechanics, different default songs, songs that actually have utility beyond meme shit, tools just for them, there's a world of possibility here and it's completely wasted
And if there's a boss rush thing again it's gotta be structured differently to account for the different approach to difficulty, pantheons will not work for this game
>>
>>722633090

Little effects like light versions of the shit you'd get from crest binding or other niche things that wouldn't work as a major part of your kit, any standard bard shit would work I think as long as you don't make it too strong
Just tie those little effects to the song you have equipped, and activate them once you spend a silk(there are already plenty of one-off songs in the game, so they wouldn't even necessarily need to make more to replace the default one)
Whether those are in addition to or alternative to the temporary enemy stun is a balance thing that would need to be tested out
Then give it tool slots for slightly more major effects, swapping things like the wisp lantern and flea egg there instead so they aren't just wasted tools
I would also either put in a tool or give it an upgrade that ties it explicitly to the cloak float so you can play while moving in midair(and also access the float at any time like you can when you first get it)

>>722642068
Game is more punishing and was designed to swing one way or the other faster than hollow knight's more endurance-focused fights- so an endurance mode would be less appropriate
Additionally, Hornet's moveset works really well for basic enemy encounters which is why they were so proud of that and put little gauntlets everywhere
So a more appropriate structure for boss rush content would be either(or both) a bloody palace-esque enemies-and-bosses arena tower, or a kingdom hearts data battle kind of setup where you just have a bunch of upgraded bosses and choose which to fight at any time(unlocking more after you beat enough)

It's gonna be GOTY anons, give up. And Hornet is a cute
>>
>>722642059
NTA but how I think it should work at a base level
>doesn't cost silk
>doesn't stun enemies unless you have the tool equipped
>slowly generates silk if you play it in range of an enemy, 1 silk per line of needolin dialogue they have until you've seen them all
>tool makes it stun for a second by locking them into the singing animation when you play it, but costs a silk to start playing, stun lasts longer than the shortest playing duration so you can use it as a mini pause button, enemies are immune for 30 seconds after being stunned so you can't spam it

more ambitiously, make it work like the LoZ ocarina. Hold Y and then press directions to play notes, first song you learn is the Melody of Mindfulness or something, works like above, get silk from enemies as you play it. Then you'd learn other songs throughout the game, when you get the Eiraling fast travel you'd press Y+^^<>V to play the melody their mother uses to call them, Needolin doors need a specific tune you find at the end of a little platforming challenge nearby, put in some more of those Simon Says things except you play the notes back on it, shit like that. Maybe some kind of thing where you start with only two strings and can only play the simplest songs or fragments of them, then find more strings throughout the game until you can play the complex threefold melody and open the top of the citadel.
DESU they might have tried something like that during development and it was shitty and annoying, very possible, might be a shit idea, but as is it really feels like a waste of a face button.
I died earlier because I killed an enemy and then tried to up-slash another one while standing on its corpse, but because I had the Collect Cloaks quest the game decided I wanted to collect the useless quest item because I pressed Up and it locked me in place, not a huge issue or anything it just feels stupid when there's a whole face button you have to press like 5 times in the whole playthrough.

I don't want to take damage because the enemy/boss attacked while I used it
I don't use tools because after my 10th death I won't be able to use tools anyway
I need silk for healing
There are better tools than quick charge
Silksong is a hard game because every boss either spams adds, spams multiple things to dodge at once, or is programmed in a way that the boss will hit you if you don't dodge in a very specific way.
Jumped over the boss and used a pogo? Well now you're in the air and it just jumped into you. Because there's no Shade Cloak, every single boss has turned into "Well you got your 2 hits in, now back away and watch my attacks". Pretty obvious Team Cherry hated the way some people fought bosses in HK since they removed many options for dealing with bosses and punish if you don't do a boss their intended way.

For all the shit Elden Ring deservedly gets, it is fun to explore for the first time, until you realize the world is empty and the already sporadic side content is mostly copypasted areas with copypasted enemies.
It still has kino moments like finding Siofra, especially if you find it in your own exploration instead of being directed there by Ranni's quest. I went there super underlevelled on my first playthrough to the point I got 1-shot by the snipers. I played that section like a stealth game and it was the most fun I've had with the game.

>>
>>722650384
it's just a really shitty fight
he has literally two attacks, one of them is spitting projectiles at random angles and the other is suddenly charging across the room, both of which make attacking him from the front annoying, he doesn't take damage from pogos so you have to jump over and hit him in the back, but his hitbox is just slightly taller and wider than is easy to clear with a single normal jump so it's a huge pain until you get the double jump, and his contact box is wider at the base so you can jump over him, try to swing backwards to do a little damage and then land on his coattails and lose two masks
Aside from that the fight is a few boring groups of ads, and a time wasting spears phase where you don't even have to move to avoid them half the time. Also if you stun him he just instantly goes underground so you actually usually lose out on damage when it happens.
It's a fight where the fast way to win is just stand in his face mashing attack and hoping the projectiles miss, and the "clean" way to win is getting one hit every 20 seconds until the last phase when things get a little interesting and he starts doing the spears and other stuff at the same time, but the spears attack where he pops up is also the biggest real damage window he has so once he starts doing that more often he usually just dies, and you spend 80% of the fight frustrated picking away for single hits and then when it starts to get almost fun it just ends. Or you just mash in his face and don't even really try to avoid damage and it will work 60% of the time. 90% of the time with Wanderer.
Or just spam tacks.

>>722654779
Use it to close the distance when enemies are open for more hits.
>>
>>722619246
>Started Act 3
>Turns out there's a ton of content I just cannot ever get now
Fuck this
>>
>>722654779
>uses silk
Why?
>>
>>722654871
there's only small stuff unavailable in act 3, you can still get most of everything but it's just different from how it would have been in act 2
>>
>>722654779
Mt Fay is the clawline tutorial area.

Also, once you really get the hang of it you'll love it and wonder how you survived without it. It's also amazing for combat.
>>
>>722654779
Using it followed by a reaper pogo often launches you up to safety, letting you get some easy damage in
>>
>>722654779
You'll get better at it. You got this, champ!
The real clawline tutorial is beating GMS cursed.
>>
>>722654895
It's the worst. I never use the Violin either because of this and the fact that it's too slow.
Dream Nail was much better.
>>
>>722654895
It refunds the silk if it's directed at an enemy. What I can't forgive though, is that apparently the instances of it giving 2 silk instead of 1 was actually a bug and it was remoevd. Even charged attacks give you silk now, but this one move can only break even AND potentially waste silk if you miss.
>>
The clawline is making the game unplayable for me, I hate this.
Is it mandatory?
>>
>>722655303
Clawline is already OP as it is you dumbass. It needs to have a little cost at least.
>>
>>722655314
You only hate it because you don't understand it intuitively yet. I'm being serious. I hated it as well when I got it and couldn't get my head round it.

Go to Mount Fay and do that area. You will only be able to do so by coming to terms with the clawline. Once you've done it, you'll fully understand it and it will enhance your experience.
>>
>>722655445
>Go to Mount Fay and do that area.
I've done it, I still hate it and don't want to play anymore.
Is this mandatory for the rest of the game? If yes, I'm dropping it here.
>>
>>722655426
>Hit for the equivalent of 1 nail swing at the coist of your healing/skill resource
It's really not as good as you think
>>
>>722655486
Yes it's mandatory
You don't have to use it since it overlaps with the dash for the most part, but you need to stop playing either way because you're retarded and will just dilute discussions of the game in the future, so it is mandatory
>>
>>722655571
You're just shit. It's an incredibly safe gap-closer that basically eliminates the need for proper positioning.
>>
>>722655652
>Yes it's mandatory
>You don't have to use it
I don't think you know what "mandatory" means.
>>
>>722655486
>I've done it, I still hate it and don't want to play anymore.

No you haven't. If you had, you wouldn't feel that way. You're throwing a tantrum. Do what I have advised you to do.
>>
>>722655740
>No you haven't. If you had, you wouldn't feel that way.
You are wrong.
>>
>>722655697
It's mandatory because you need to leave, you fucking retard
>>
>>722655786
Thanks for confirming you don't know what the word "mandatory" means.
>>
>>722655776
You've clearly just got clawline and are struggling to use it. When presented with the solution (doing Mt Fay, an entirely separate region that takes hours) your knee jerk reply is to say "uh uh uh I've already done it" because you're entrenched in your opinion of not liking clawline.

Take the medicine, do Mt Fay, it will help you learn the tool.
>>
>>722655831
It is mandatory that you leave
It being mandatory was set as the condition for you leaving
Therefore for you to leave, it must be mandatory
And so it is
Go, and stay go, you illiterate nigger
>>
>>722655967
I've already done Mt. Fay. I do not like the Clawline.
Are you autistic or something?
>>
>>722656005
>"I-i-it's mandatory because I say so!!"
Thnaks for confirming, again, that you don't know what the word means.
>>
>>722656074
"mandatory" means "required"
And you have to leave, that is entirely required
>>
>>722656126
No I don't. You just want me to.

>>
>>722656207
Doesn't mean it's mandatory tho.
>>
>>722656029
It's obvious that you haven't because the area is completely dependent on having intuitive use of the clawline mastered. You wouldn't know this, having not done the area as you've only just got the clawline.
>>
>>722656285
So you are autistic, thanks for confirming this fact.
I beat Mt. Fey. I still don't like the Clawline.
Why does this upset your autistic-ass so much?
>>
>>722656223
"Mandatory" means "necessary"
>>
>>722656360
Everyone felt like that when they got it. It feels janky and it takes a while to get the hang of. All I'm saying is there's light at the end of the tunnel, you'll feel a lot better once you get to the mountain and do it so don't worry.
>>
>>722656445
I've already beaten Mt. Fey.
Why are you pretending that I haven't?
>>
>>722623806
you will never experience beating the game either
>>
>>722656445
anon he has not said once why he hates it, it's the dishonest bait
>>

>>
/v/ is such an incredible board
>>
I love Tormented Trobbio but he's definitely giving me epilepsy
>>
>>722656360
I agree. I use the clawline only when it's required for platforming and ignore it the rest of the time. I don't like things that slowly deplete my silk.
>>
>>722649998
The atmosphere isn't as solid (although it has its moments) but I quite enjoyed exploring the map in Tunic
>>
>>722658124
>>722656360
You guys really should do the cursed GMS fight.
>>
>>722658124
Yeah I wish it didn't use silk either, that and the violin. Seems like a mistake.
>>
>>722650057
Blue Prince definitely got me with most hours played this year. The atmosphere and sense of exploration is also top notch. However, the strategic aspects to mitigate randomness rubbed a lot of people off.

Animal Well's map is filled to the brim with secrets as well.
>>
>>722658124
>>722658387
How are you faggots so fucking shit at the game? Clawline is fucking OP.
>>
>>722658124

>>
>>722658582

What's that?
>>
>>722658603

>>
>>722620412
Roll slop.
>>
Thinking the clawline is bad and clunky and unwieldy and useless when you get it is such an experience. Only when you learn to use it you realize how fucking OP the thing is.

>>
>>722659140

>>
>>722658916
I can't relate. I fell in love with it the moment I got it. It literally completes Hornet's moveset and movement. The moment I unlocked Clawline I thought "yup, this is it, this is what Hornet's been missing" and suddenly the game felt 100 times better to play.
>>
>>722659189
Might look into it, but I'm much more likely to install the mod that stops hookshot and violin from using silk.
Thanks.
>>
>>722659339
>violin from using silk.
yeah why it uses silk? The hook is busted as fuck so it needs some restriction but why needolin?
>>
>>722659560
>Needolin
>takes silk
>NPC's take forever to sing literally nothing at you

>Dream Nail
>Gains soul on hit
>Text boxes are instant

The needolin is just a shitty version of the Dream Nail.
>>
>>722629908
I bought nine sols during sale a few days ago and I'm so glad it doesn't have contact damage.
It feels so good after silksong.
but I enjoyed silksong as well.
>>
Just beat Lace 2 for the first time. I've been slow finishing this game.
It's funny, she kicked my ass the first couple attempts, but as soon as I learned her entire kit is invalidated by just jumping and pogoing on her head, I promptly humiliated her thoroughly.
Good boss. Cleaning up the map, then advancing to Act 3. Wish me luck, bros
>>
>>722659691
What's worse is that you have to spend like 5 points of silk to feel confident you've gotten all the dialogue because they are random.
>>
>>722660259
You can go up the Cradle and fight the boss. Getting an ending just resets you to before beating the boss like in HK.
>>
>>722660259
I'd recommend getting the normal ending first otherwise you can miss out on a cool cutscene

Yes, but I was both surprised and disappointed by the lack of intro screens for important bosses
>>
>>722660581
Only the Radiance and NKG had that and GMS kinda had it too, except the screen didn't go blank.
>>
>>722660320
I just don't talk to NPC's in this game with the needolin.
It's such a huge waste of time compared to the first game, I just don't care anymore.
>>
Where do I get double jump in this game?
I'm not having much fun and I just want it over as soon as possible.
>>
this dude is fucking weird
>>
>>722661219
Then just stop playing, faggot. You don't HAVE TO finish it. You get the double jump roughly halfway through the game. You can get an ending without it if you really want to.
>>
>>722661601
So I'm very close to the double jump.
Where do I find it exactly?

The FOV (field of view) feels wrong in that game, like in so many modern games. It's too zoomed out. You need an artistic IQ of over 130 to understand that. 16:9 is a shit aspect ratio many developers don't know how to properly deal with.
