Next week a lot of people on /v/ are going to be defending Bloodlines 2 after playing it. But there's going to be a combination of acknowledging the problems and feeling a sense of regret and perhaps anger at the studio for making pig-headed choices. Not about things like the voiced protag, not really. More about how they've fundamentally misunderstood what people want from a vampire RPG in terms of really feeling like a vampire (with meaningful agency).The writing in most of the game is good. The voice acting is good. But that's not enough. The rest of the package has deep issues, and that's going to cause a lot of controversy.

I think the game as a whole is trapped between conflicting creative visions. There is so much walking, so much running.
