I've settled on the silver surfer build simply because it gives the impression that I have some control over my ability to play better. I rarely block items and the times I do well it is mostly because I just got lucky and no one attacked me on the last lap or I messed up at a good time to be rewarded for it. I would probably be better off using something else, but it is much less frustrating to lose when I can more easily blame myself. With people acting like surfing is on par with bagging, it makes me wonder how many people are actually good enough to take advantage of it consistently and how many people are like me just trading one type of luck for another while trying to convince themselves it isn't luck. If someone can predict/react to items and keep chaining level 4s while also keeping a good enough line to pull ahead, I can only assume they would be beating me with any build.
