I was prepared for words but this has gone way beyond expectationsDo any of these choices even matter? Even being a jackass doesn't help as far as my entertainment is concerned
>>730577462tl;dr
>>730577462The choice matters mostly because some sentaces make you more manic or depressed, so you can easily leave a conversation about to have a heart attack if you pick the wrong ones. Also sometimes you need to pick the right choices mostly when talking to named people not pawns, e.g. when talking the dude at isador's house to get him to leave.
>Act like an ass to kids>I am now fucking SonicHell yeah
>>730578025Finding out that you can go top speed the redder you are was the only thing I liked from my 116 minutes of playing it. I know the game hasn't even started yet but I might refund it and pick it back up once its cheaper. I like the idea of it but so far there's just been a lot of reading and not much playing.like these sections for example, does it even matter which you click on
>>730578154The game really only starts once every tutorial is done on days 1, 3 and 5 (prisoner). After that it's very nice.
>>730578154>does it even matter which you click on, or have you finally cracked, dankovsky?IPL done it again and made kino
>>730578154it opens up a lot once you can make decrees and diagnose daily patients, which is around 5 or 6 hours in. I'm quite immersed and loving the game, I found it inferior to 2 at the start but I'm really liking the bachelor gameplay now
>>730578275>>730578154It actually matters which one you click on SOME investigations, as picking the wrong option stops the investigation because you either find the wrong conclusion or just decide it's nothing.
>>730577462I'm stuck on day 3. I fucked up 1 patient diagnosis but I can't seem to correct it, I never get the confirmation at the end of the day. There is also this other bugged quest.Man I wish the game had less bugs, that's like 5 game breaking bugs so far
not buying
>>730578526make sure you restart the "quest line" at the start of the day and you can correct it
>>730578526For fucked up patient diagnostics you sometimes need to reload the day twice at a clock. It's also important to manually click away the events you want to remove as otherwise even dead ends will stick. But yes, the first hotfix addressed some of the broken triggers that I encountered myself, which were pretty funny.
>>730578591you mean remove all other correct patient diagnosis too ?
>>730578154Mechanically speaking these dialogue options influence the state of your mind, some make you maniac and others apathetic.Narratively speaking they serve to immerse the player further.
>>730578609Wait, day 3? There's only one "patient" in day 3.. It's not a normal hospital day.For that, you probably need to reset either the top or the bottom here.
>>730578694nah I fucked up, I'm stuck on day 4each patient has its own "thought line". I failed one but whenever I change the diagnosis in the menu nothing happens at the end of the day and I can't talk to the patient to re-examine him either
Just play the 1st game
>>730578591I just got out of the tutorial and "resurrected" on day 3, before starting the day I had some quests that I could reset(turning the quest icons red) but I didn't, what would change if I did? So far it seems I can start the quests again normally without the reset.I didn't quite understand how this mechanic works.
>>730578759you could be getting the wrong diagnosis. have you investigated his house? it's a tricky diagnosis and has a lot of red herrings.
>>730578825whenever you complete a quest (icons aren't round), the progress is saved and you don't have to redo it when you restart the same day
>>730578828nah it's the second diagnosis that I fucked up, the light drinker not the one with a house. If only I could re-examine the guy...
>>730578759If you lock in a diagnostic it's stuck 'till you get the report and reload the day.
>>730578825the questlines can end in "fail states" which will not progress the game in succesing days. You need to restart the quest lines at the start of the dag if you judge them to be in a state that is not beneficial for your progress, eg a failed diagnosis, an important character dying, a character not talking to you etcthe game is a bit obtuse in explaining the mechanic
Haven't booted up Pathologic 2 yet but I have it on GOG. How is the franchise?
>>730579005ludokinoone of the few games which are vidya art
>>730578654I guess I can't relate to the random latin the dude keeps throwing out randomly because I don't even know what they mean
>>730579454Vita sic est
How does it compare to 1 and 2? I'm curious about that entire series
>>730580246I went in thinking that I wouldn't understand everything but the writing is so good that you're not really lost. It's more like you're continually understanding new things that slowly build a huge picture
>>730578892Doesnt it mean you could just pick correct diagnosis this time, without going to 3rd guy house? Seems like not that huge waste of time
>>730578584>kids behaving like ungrateful shits because they grow up in eastern europe>IT MUSTVE BEEN THE AMERIFAT LEFTIES AIEEEEEEE
>>730582169I got it :I didn't highlight the symptom before talking to the guy so I didn't unlock the "clinical picture" field and in this specific patient examination round you HAVE to start with Luta but I couldn't since I had already cured her and you can't talk to the guy before you talk to Luta so I had to re-diagnose Luta to diagnose the guy properly
so basically i should be repeating each day until i get a 'perfect' end to all the quests before moving onto the next day?
so are you supposed to get captured in the trainyard on the 4th day ? I thought I just had to not attempt to ride the train but somehow the "jailed due to capture" thought line cannot be remove from the 5th day>>730583445that's what I've been doing. I'm certain there are things that will require that you go back from day 10 to 2 or something like that but I've yet to encounter them. Currently "100%" day 3 except for that train story
I reset day 3 before I could study the sample and now I still have the marker about studying it, but I don't have it in my inventory anymore. Do I need to return to the plagued district, or is it glitched?
>>730584334when in doubt, reload the day and abort the questline that's stuck
What the fuck is wrong with the second patient on Day 4?
>>730586010talk to him about both his eczema and his high heart rate
Why is Eva sucha fucking Cutie? Also how the hell do i get more orderlies? I've got a vaccine, but no orderlies to hand it out. Also how do you find the root of the plague other thatn searching everything? I don't get the sound cue thingy.
>>730588724Just wait a day, you get a decree from getting rubin to work after he lives to get more orderlies
>>730588724Oh yeah the root is a giant lettuce, if you face towards it and move closer the heart beat sounds increase. In Daniil inspector vision Q it shows as green. You have to use it to shoot the skeleton on the same day you get the sample
>>730588982I know, but somehow i still have trouble finding it? Like how do i know which infected district has it? Only the one where the Shabnak is running around? Or is she running around in every inflicted district?
>>730577462no one is actually playing this you dumbfuck boomer so tell which streamer is playing
>>730589256The first one I found was in the top right corner of the district, this was the one Clara warns you about when you try to enter it. The Shabnak should be there, she will attack you once it starts spraying shit everything when you harvest it.
>>730589454i actually found it while waiting for your reply lol.the tip with the q vision helped! thanks.
>>730589256Only the ones with Shabnak have it.
>>730589552No worries! Other sage advise I have is to make sure you turn off streamer mode to see tits in the examinations
>>730589256It's not a heartbeat cue, it's ticking. Whenever you hear a faint ticking, move around that general area. The ticking gets louder when the bush is around. It spawns in a random district in a random area of the district.
>>730589654that i already figured out haha>>730589648ah thanks king
It's all so tiresome...
Anybody else had the problem of quests or rather characters not spawning in the map?
>>730590165If it's you looking for artemiy he's actually west of the circled area, still on the riverbank
>>730589796how many hours did it take you? it may be a silly question since the days are supposedly non-linear
I've marathoned this for two days and gotten two endings (bad and worse), though I know how to get the rest now. Here's some tips:Memorize all mirror locations, you don't want to softlock yourself in a day where you can't go to other days because you run out of mirror juice. Many mirrors still spawn in districts gone bad so you can go there and check them. It's a good idea to save mirrors too if you're maxed and come back later. Every day has its own supply. Eve helps too, she's lovely, so keep her safe.Buy a lot of health potions and maniamax, children always sell at least one, make sure you use their shards too if there's a tooltip on the top right of the map that you're still missing something. Containers in a day don't reset, so feel free to store shit in them, same as the mirrors. Buy The BullOther than that, there are some triggers that are sadly a bit broken for now, don't know how many the hotfix fixed, but at least two patients on two separate days, if misdiagnosed, can't be redone. You don't actually need to diagnose every patient on every day, but I think at least 70% is required for unlocking stuffDay 2 has a sequence where you're going to Isidors house, the sequence resets every time you play day 2 even if you've done it. This includes the artifacts you get from the house, you need those artifacts, so keep this in mind. Days 10/11 have a bit of a broken trigged with Laura and the general, if the general is dead and you go to day 11, the game assumes he's alive. This can also happen with the Stamatin brothers at points.Oh, and day, uhh... 7? If Saburov dies, you can't escape the city even if you save him later, broken trigger again I'm afraid. >>730590960
>>730591047The couple of times I've done day 2, there's always been a certain someone there that would take the artifact from me whenever I got it. Is it one of those cases where I have to be there first thing in the morning or can I mitigate this by playing through later days?
so, ive beaten days 1, 5, 3, 2, and now im on day 4, and ive noticed that im running out of the charges for the anti fog machine. i believe i have some belladonna, but how do i find the other ingredients needed to recharge it?
>>730591401You need to tell the foreman that you work for the big fat boss, otherwise he chases you out after you've found the mold. Might require you to know of him before that though. >>730591494That reminds me! Another good tip:Every day has a free recharge for the machine on the chest next to the door coming from the stairway entrance. Very good to know. Might require you to get the spying worm to come as an assistant first though
Day 4 and I am at the cemeteryHow do I save Rubin? The bell is ringing and I have the shovel with me, but there are not button prompt to dig him out
>>730591564>spoilerFucking hell, time to replay day 2 again. And maybe talk to Big Vlad at some fucking point, haven't seen him at all since the first council and the trial
>>730591682I had to talk to a kid first for him to identify the right grave, did you talk to him? Otherwise try restarting the day and going straight there after clearing the failed event
>>730591564wtf i didn't see this chest at all!!
I've owned the first two Pathologics for years now and have never touched either one. They just don't even appear all that interesting and the mere fact that they're made by SLAVS isn't a good indicator for quality.
>>730591830kek same, im the guy who asked, thanks, >>730591564By the way, i still cant completely grasp the mechanics just yet, does this chest reset if i play the day again? or will it be empty on day 4, if do day 4 again?
is it even possible to save rubin? i sprinted there on the 4th day instantly, grabbed the shovel and he was still dead? i even maxed mania to be quicker?
>>730591830Speaking of chests, there are a lot in just the cathedral area that I think many people don't notice as they're a bit out of the way. The Maw is unironically the best district in the game.Red dots are chests, the blue area is the most mirror-laden area in the game, try to check these out at the start of every day to get a good start with resources.>>730591979No, the chest won't reset for the day. All containers reset BETWEEN days, but for any individual day they stay the way you leave them: even if you start at the start of that day.So you can loot it now and it will be full next day, but you can't loot it again in the morning. The device also doesn't reset at all between days, so you can use refills from 'safe' days to then go to 'unsafe' days.
>>730592119aha, so, if i loot it on day 3, then play day 5, and go back to 3, it'll stay empty. fair enough, i suppose, free 20 charges a day seemed too easy
>>730592082Yes absolutely possible and required to get more orderlees by decree later. Make sure you talked to the kid walking around the cemetary if you haven't already
By the way, the clocks won't automatically transfer your whole inventory - it will leave out the bottom three slots. So if you have a full inventory, put some shit in a container in stillwater or something.
i've heard of slavs being good at squatting but this is getting ridiculous!
>>730590165I couldnt find the shmowder kids by the theater.
>>730594319yeah same
So, how many mirror locations are there anyway? I might be stuck a little
Spooky.
>>730594759No idea, changes every day.I know there are fiveI think these ones are always there, at least.(Marked in blue, X means I never find any fucking mirrors there)
>>730595160interestin. we'll just have to figure that out as we go it seems
>>730578893>If you lock in a diagnostic it's stuck 'till you get the report and reload the day.I think you also have to cancel that particular story thread, which is a mechanic the game only reveals once you get to replaying day 5. If you don't cancel a story line, it will get locked and NPC will act as if you carried it out, at least for some quests. Honestly, the game feels a bit inconsistent about that.
>>730595323It was explained on day 3 thoread
anyone knows where to get reagant ? I'm on day 5, supposed to analyze a sample but I quit the analisys station once and it set my reagants to 0
>>730595647>It was explained on day 3 thoNo? No questline needs cancelling in day 3. Not so much on day 5, where it literally determines your starting location as well as it being one of the flags for unlocking later days, which the game specifically summons a tool-tip to explain.
Can you pass days normally without spending resources? Like just sleeping till the next day i mean?
>>730596090you change days by using the clock it doesn't advance by itself. Progressing to the next day will always consume almanach or whatever
>>730596090>Can you pass days normally without spending resources?Yeah, that is what your bed is for. As far as I can tell it does not increase your lethargy levels or drain your health (if you happen to use it when manic), so it basically allows you to spend that day away at no resource cost. You are technically wasting amalgam, because rewinding that time cost you something and you aren't getting any return on that investment if you aren't completing tasks, breaking mirrors or putting people in sleep, but in 10 hours so far, it seems to me that resource isn't exactly scarce.
>>730596280Rewinding the same day does not cost any amalgam, things that cost it:>Dying>Torturing a plague victim>Big one: Switching days (direction doesn't matter)
>>730596360also high apathy
I don't know if it's just me, but these traders in rioting districts seem broken.
>>730596360Fair point, when I said rewinding time I meant switching days, poor choice of wording on my side for sure since I am not sure if there is a cost on just restart a day, but there is a cost to move it, even if you wait till the day's end, time won't move to the next one until you manually switch.Still, the issue of potentially wasted amalgam stands, but it also stands that none of it should be a cause for concern. Again, things may change (I'm still in the first arch of the game, some 10 hours in, but I suspect Amalgam won't be a big issue either way unless you keep dying a LOT.
>>730596280>allows you to spend that day away at no resource cost. But do I enter the next day?
>>730596619no you enter the next day through interaction with a clock -any.If you wait for a long time you get locked in the stiltwater map while the world becomes some sort of strange theater and you can't do anything (no interaction with instruments)There probably are unique dialogue to be had then
>>730596708Okay, thanks for explaining. Sounds neat.
>>730596829Just for minor clarification:The "End of the day" state, which now triggers automatically at 2 AM, does not just contain "some unique" dialogue. It both serves as a replacement for P1/2's midnight acts (if you leave the house, you will get a theatre scene much like you used to, there is also always another unique dialogue for Eve which often sums up your actions for that day, giving you some pretty crucial insights into how you are doing. You should pretty much let the clock run out (or sleep) until 2 AM on every day unless you figure out you've screwed up and need to replay a segment or 2. The day is really only concluded in that "End of the Day" state. It also gives you some time literally off the clock to unwind a bit.But yeah, you then have to manually interact with the clock to trigger another day, and it does cost amalgam usually. After 2 AM, the game's timer literally just stops.
>>730595925>No? No questline needs cancelling in day 3.It still tells you you can restart quests then.
>>730597319It literally does not. I fucking played through that shit not 10 hours ago, what the fuck is wrong with you?
Bought P3, still haven't started it yet. I know it's not going to be as good as P2.
>>730597730>I know it's not going to be as good as P2.P3 is honestly so different that comparison very quickly will lose meaning once you get into the swing of things.Unlike in case P1/2 where comparisons can be drawn pretty easily, P3 is just a completely unique beast. It is, in many ways, the studio going back to its roots, pre-Pathologic-remake era, when you literally had no idea what the next game is going to be like. It is that much of a departure, for good and bad, it remindeds me (A LOT) of how I felt when I played The Void for the first time.P2 can be still judged by the optics of "how much does it get P1 - how much does it improve, how much does it do worse, just generally how do they compare?" P3 really, really can't. It's doing it's own entirely different thing, it just is set in the same settings, featuring the same characters, but that is it. Which does not mean you'll necessarily enjoy it equally or more than P3, just that the need to compare them will most likely dissipate very fast when you play it.
Why the FUCK is he so schizophrenic now? Still doing quarantine but holy fuck he's somehow more irritating
>>730598040>Why the FUCK is he so schizophrenic now?Bi-polar, not schizophrenic. Also, stop playing quarantine. It's actually not a stand-alone story like Marble Nest was, it spoils a pretty big part of the game and robs you some neat reveals and plot twists.Just go and play the real thing.
>>730598134>It's actually not a stand-alone story like Marble Nest wasTruly? The description called it a prologue. I feel deceived.
Well, got a pretty happy ending and I have no idea how to get the rest. That's that then for now, I suppose. Gotta wait 'till a guide or something.I >Did the Haruspex special and let them shoot the polyhedron, saving everyone. However, I can't seem to find a way to save both it and the town, or even just it.
>>730597405for me they told me on day 4also, i didnt have any diagnostics on day 3? did i fuck up? she died anyways so i figured it might notve happened because of that
> Day 2> Mission I have left is to study Isidor's corpse> I'm pretty sure the game bugged out after my first attempt of the quest, now I can't talk or interact with anyone at the funeral (if I come in the morning, the worm-tards block me, if I go later, the funeral is over and I can't do anything with his grave)Am I retarded or is the quest broken?
PSYCHOkovsky....
>>730598309>The description called it a prologue. Yeah, I was pretty frustrated with this myself. It's not. There is a prologue to P3 in there, but it's just those scenes in Capital - the discussion with your assistants, the escape from the university building, that weird scene with the giant wheel.Everything after that is lifted directly from the game. The whole diagnostic segment, with the three patients, including the twist, is NEAR verbatim from day 4 of the actual game, except the actual game does it a bit better since its more polished. >>730598906>i didnt have any diagnostics on day 3?I'm pretty sure you did, as it is quite literally necessary to take over the Emergency Command, and unlocks the ability to make vaccinations from that day on.You did go to the meeting in the Town Hall, right? You saw people getting vaccinated on Young Vlad's orders, right? After talking to people at the town hall, you are told to check up on Stamatin's pub, where the trial on the vaccination material is being conducted. You speak with Andrey, he points you that the vaccination was done on his dancer, you talk to her, that triggers the diagnostics segment. Did you somehow miss this? I'm pretty sure the game should not let you to talk to Andrey again after he tells you that the dancer tried vaccination until you lock in her diagnosis, which is then needed for Daniil to realize the girl IS infected, which is what allows you to to inform the town hall and unlock the decree's, vaccinations, and most importantly, open the hospital. And you can't actually pick any other day until you've done all that, the inspector won't allow you to talk to any other day but 3 until you've opened the hospital.
>>730599279No I did all of that i just didnt get a report at the end of the day
what am I supposed to do when it says "There are some points of interest left unexplored" on my mapI've done pretty much everything available for the day and there's nothing left on the map
>>730599367>No I did all of that i just didnt get a report at the end of the dayOh, you don't get an official report. Because the idea of making your own vaccination based on people with comorbidities happens AFTER that. But you do get a guy confirming that she is now sick, and a sample of her blood if you got the diagnosis right at the end of the day. That allows you to issue the vaccination order for that day, which is one of the flags needed to avert the doom of the city on day 6, unlocking the next set of days for you.As long as you can make the vaccine and issue a vaccination order, that story-line is succesfuly concluded. If nobody appears in the evening and you don't get the infected blood to make your first vaccines, that means you got the diagnosis wrong and you need to cancel out the questline when restarting a day, and get it right this time. It's a bit confusing, but it makes sense in terms of chain of events. The idea of even caring about the comorbidities only fully occurs to Daniil when both of his suspicions (1: she is already infected, and 2: she also has another disease which slowed down her infection) are confirmed.
>>730599625>"There are some points of interest left unexplored" on my mapWell, you can either go and explore some more, make sure you've done all of the days quests and so on, or you can by glass shards from virtually any of the kids. Glass shards will unlock remaining secrets on the map, if there are any. They cost 5 trade points and nearly all kids sell them. In that way they work much like Twyre in P2.As far as I can tell, only completing quests will reveal them otherwise.
Can you chucklefucks play faster so you can tell me how the fuck I can get the other endings? Fucking chop chop!Save the town already, lazy bones!
>>730599962WELL NOW I'M NOT DOING IT

It is, in many ways, the studio going back to its roots, pre-Pathologic-remake era, when you literally had noI'll just start it then, thanks. I don't understand the travel change. You still have to go through dangerous districts manually (which will be most of them later on).
>>730599846>glass shardsI kinda forgot these existed after I used them earlier and found nothing, thank you for reminding me
Oh you fuckers, so it WAS an eye before.
My new year resolution is to fucking beat patho 2 this year, after im done with CP im trying it
>>730600259CP is very important Anon. You are right about that!
>>730600259>after im done with CP im trying itsick fuck
>>730600259stay away from murky you degenerate
>>730600204>I don't understand the travel changeIt's more intuitive than it may seem, and the framing device makes sense (both of them, actually, the game has two separate ways of justifying that mechanic, because this is an IPL game). And yes, you have to go through dangerous districts manually. Which honestly, is easily the worst part of the game. The way these dangerous districts work is... It's the one thing I'd say they genuinely didn't do right. Every other massive deviation from P1/2 is one that makes sense in its own way, but I dislike how the infected districts work, period. It's not unbearable, but I don't think it was the correct way to handle them.>>730600207>I kinda forgot these existed after I used them earlier and found nothing,Yeah, they obviously work only for that day, and only if you have the explicit message "there are still secrets left" or something like that is on your map.If you use bought them and that message isn't up, you wasted those 5 trading points, since there is nothing to reveal.
>>730600586>but I don't think it was the correct way to handle them.Meaning what exactly? What is it that you don't like?
>>730600586It makes sense in that he's in a very official position of authority and realistically would always have orderlies buzzing about, but it feels weird. I mean that in the sense that it doesn't make much sense for the head of your plague damage control efforts to be slogging around town alone like a fucking bum. The most important part of the healthy districts in 1 and 2 was bartering. Given that you don't have to worry about food and whatnot they don't seem to matter as much. Overall I see what they're going for, but as usual I'll probably have to put quite a bit of time into the actual game before I form a proper opinion.
There's a trick to traversing districts that makes it piss easy for any type. You can use any exit that's not the one you cam e from to go to any other exit.
>>730600259NOOOOOOOO YOU CANT TYPE CYBERPUNK LIKE THAT NOOOOOOOOOOOO
>>730600928>Meaning what exactly?I don't want to spoil too much, but the issue is lack of transparency, it's kinda really fucking hard to tell what is happening and what are you doing wrong. The infected districts are extremely intense and hectic, you are being constantly assaulted by so much noise (visual) and auditory), so hectic that it feels ill-fitting to a Pathologic game, but more importantly: again, the lack of feedback is the biggest issue, you often find yourself just dashing in, unsure why are you taking damage, what the fuck is happening, so you'll easily just give up and just tank the damage burning through health items. It's nerve-wracking, but not in a good way, because you feel like your input barely matters, and the situation barely makes sense. It also feels a bit... disjointed, because it does not tie that well into other mechanics. This goes for rioting districts as well, though I find those at least a lot more readable. Each dangerous district primarily revolves around it's own mechanic: in case of infected districts, it's the "prototype", a new mechanic that I'm not too keen on. Basically, it's a device with 20 uses that will neutralize all pest related threats... I though around you, but I'm not sure, it may work in a radius, or maybe dispel all threads in your field of view and SOME (but not all) in a radius... and that is the problem, I'm not sure how it works, even after 10 hours. And rioting districts are solved with a gun. You don't get to combine these systems or anything. You solve infected districs via Prototype, rioting ones via gun, and it feels super inorganic. Like, you literally can't pull these devices unless you are in the proper district, it's that fixed. That is not to say there isn't more depth to these things. There is some nuances to both - using gun does not actually mean "shoot everyone", for an example, and there is a great deal you can do with various consumables and so on.But I'm still not fond of this.
>>730577462czy to ty, Major??
reposting>>730599596
>>730601818Infected districts aren't that hard anon.Just load up on mania, bust in and find the green shit. Also, it's in a radius around you. Except for the plague bullet.Once you get accustomed to it, traversing through is piss simple as long as you've dealt with the Shabnak.
Is Anna Angel even in? Still havent met her
>>730602353Yeah, she has a quest or two.
>>730577462>talk to someone>the entire conversation is 15 sentences max>this is a lot to the modern gamerI dont play a lot of modern stort games but it's nothing compared to a lot of older games.
>>730601818The biggest problem with the Prototype is that you don't really need it. You can just walz around the infected clouds. I didn't have any issues with the infected areas other than sometimes finding the root. >>730601971P2: Hugging Lara
>>730602727That's until the infected areas start having those infection tornados and shadows and walkabouts and wall pustules
>>730602806eh, agree to disagree, didn't find that hard to avoid either desu
>>730602916I'm HOPPED UP on MANIA and RUNNING faster than the prototype can clean. It's a bit of a me problem.
>>730602186>Infected districts aren't that hard anon.My issue is not inability to get through them, my issue is that I don't find it interesting or "fun", not even in that "calling The Void fun" way. I find them harm the pacing, and just being annoying, rather than being a challenge or even something to fear. Also, you say that the prototype works in a radius, and I know for a fact that works on Shabnak and the spirits, but find myself triggering it, then in less than 2 seconds being still hit by something outside my field of vision that tanks like 1/3rd of my health anyway, and I have no fucking clue what it is or why.Again, I can spare the consumables, it's just that shit like that makes me annoyed, not invested. I prefer solving things by understanding them, not by flushing down consumables in bulk and just... stumbling through. There is no satisfaction in it, and worse yet, it feels disjointed from the rest of the game. Frankly, I genuinely think that as far as infection implementation goes, P1 still did it the best. It may have not made diegetic sense, because in P1 it was usually mostly about being infected for most of the game, and supressing the symptoms, which... the disease should kill people in 5-15 hours according to P1's lore, so spending most of the game continously infected, or cheezing the game with shmoulders isn't exactly making sense logically... but then again being completely immune to the disease doesn't either, and P1's slow burn symptom management was a lot more immersive and interesting to me.Again. it's not crippling the game, and I could raise same issues with P2's awful melee system, or P1's... everything, really. I'm not saying P3 is bad because of this, by absolutely no means.But... it is the one part I don't like and I don't see any real justification for why it is this way in the game's logic or lore.
>>730602727>You can just walz around the infected clouds. Are you sure we played the same game? Because yeah, if you are super high on mania you can outrun most things, but the basic pools of miasma slows you down, even when manic, enough that she can catch up to you. Or something will, passing them slows you down and then something outside of your field of view tanks your health. You need the prototype to avoid these slowing down miasma pools, which are by far the most common hazard. Also, slightly unrelated, but what the FUCK is up with those bird nests?!I've been playing Pathologic games since 2006, and I don't fucking understand what the in-lore explanation for giant bird nests spawning in infected districts is.
>>730603160Don't ask me, I loved the plague angels too and they even get referenced. What I tend to do with new days is to just do the Shabnak, put new laws and then there'd only be like one plagued district so I could fast travel around them. Kind of an "out of sight, out of mind" solution.I feel like, that for the Bachelor who works in the hospital, the infected districts are just obstacles rather than opportunities like for the Haruspex who could go and find organs. Bachelor's not really interested in spending hours in some district helping a couple of guys when he should be finding daily vaccines in the hospital. That's the thematic reasoning behind it, I suppose. However, I wish ruined districts came back, they had a great feel.
Want to make it even easier? You can just exit through the exit you came from, cancel the route, then set a new route to your target and you will fast travel through any infected/rioting district.
>>730599027When you restarted the day, did you "change the future" for that quest?
>>730601049That's a bug, and has now been OFFICIALLY reported, so expect it to get nuked soon.Exploit it while you can!
>>730604786I already have, heh heh. Now they'd better fix the rest of the bugs so I can get back to figuring out how to get the other endings, I am not wasting my time replaying days just to find out a trigger is broken.
>>730603316Maybe it's a bugginess that needs to be fixed, but she basically never catches up to me. I don't even die even if she does get me like two or three times when i'm taking a sample from the root. I'm literally just standing there. I even stopped bothering with the bonfires because she doesn't nreally do anything.
>>730604265Yes, I select it before starting the day, but again, I can't interact with anyone.Maybe I will just avoid it for now, I was trying to do the early days before jumping into the chaos the plague-full times.I'm still not sure if I really understand the time mechanics: I'm supposed to do everything in every try or should I just do one/two leads/quests at a time?I'm pretty sure I have no time to do everything (just like P2) but then I wonder how the "future" considers these events.
>>730605297>I don't even die even if she does get me like two or three timesSeems to be buggy all right. Though she just deals damage, not even THAT much damage, relative to all the other things that keep tanking my damage. It's not that she is such a big threat, it's just further tanking the pacing when she does catch up to you, which is why I'm very thourough with clearing those miasma pools. Her grabbing me bother me more because of it wasting my time, than because of the damage, or the stress of the situation.Which kinda sums up my general feelings towards the whole ordeal. Not a fan in general. I do like your decree's actually affect the plague spread a lot though, that is one of those neat parts when the game feels like it comes together.
>>730605491>I'm supposed to do everything in every tryNo, you (THANKFULLY) don't. In general, quests that are completed, or reached a major new node, will stay in that state every time you restart the day. If you want to change the outcome of a quest, you usually (but not always, it's a bit inconsistent) need to directly cancel it when the day starts. It takes a bit of the tension out of the game when you realize you can replay the same day over and over, doing only one or two quest each time to solve everything, but I cannot IMAGINE how frustrating it would be trying to get everything right in single run. There is more to all of this, but it's spoiler territory, you'll find out yourself. Just know that no, you don't need to optimize to complete every quest in one day Groundhog Day style. That would get insufferable very soon. What is completed, is completed. Only manually selecting the story and canceling it allows you to re-interact with that particular quest.
>>730605674Yeah I'm totally agree on the decreee thing. I'm really putting some thought into those. It's great.
>>730606714I love how genuinely shocked Lara is if you remember her name on day... 4 I think her quest is? She is a damn good judge of character. It's neat shit like that that makes Pathologic so god damn good. These characters are just incredibly well though out. Small details in the dialogues and background motivations that communicate so much.
