a lot of it is the SO bosses shill specific mechanics quite hard, for example there is a plunge boss that buffs your characters attack by 600% if you are high enough in the air which greatly benefits Varesa.

the flying bat bullshit boss is the reason why Amber and Jean are Exalted as that combo can cheese the boss with fall damage.
