And while the Solemn/Darklord cards do reference other mythologies, in the OCG "Solemn Johnson" is just God. As for the Condemned Darklord the Valuable Book EX series says that even other Darklords are wary of her magic. It's hard to say if she's really pulling Lucifer's strings but Nasten and Forbidden Droplet make it pretty clear that she can be dangerous even to her fellow fallen angels.

Maybe some people out there do want to play GOAT mirrors until the sun explodes but I imagine a fair chunk of people mad with the state of the game are only mad because their specific deck is not playable and telling them to go to a format where their deck doesn't exist is not a solution. If I play modern I might run into another petdecker and have a memorable back and forth rogue vs rogue matchup where neither of us knows the other's deck. I'm not going to get that in a retro format.

The modern game is generally just really shitty to play in person, turns take too long and unless you're dedicating time to studying the most recent decks its hard to keep track of what your opponent is even doing.

What engines work well with orcust?Playing it with mitsu now which gives it a lot more gas but doesn't cover the specific weakness that ocrust has going against dracotail. Dragonlink orcust works surprisingly well but you need hand traps going 2nd against yummy so sadly running a 60 card slop pile isnt currently viable.
