>game has that one section that's an unenjoyable slog on repeat playthroughs
what's that moment /v/?
>>
i look like this
>>
>>732321327
It becomes funny if you think of it as a chudjack.
>>
>>732321327
It's hard to top this one, its the main reason why I hardly replay Village. The whole game is lame, but this section is far worse than anything in it. The Dak Souls III swamp area, its a real slog.
>>
>>732321327
BG3: the moonlight tower preliminary battle before you battle ketheric upstairs. Have to watch over 20 NPCs take their turn and there is no skipping option. If you don't have a unit with AOE spells you're doing nothing for 30 minutes to an hour.

Black Mesa East.

>OoT
I genuinely cannot think of one. People might say "The Water Temple" but on your second playthrough you realize how fucking good it is, it's not the actual Temple but the constant need to open the menu and swap boots. It's tedious and distracts from the temple. Others might say "The Ice Cavern" but it's really not that bad, a short stint with a few puzzles. Even the Gerudo Desert isn't THAT bad once you realize you can "cheese it" by following the flag poles. I genuinely cannot think of a single point in OoT where I was like "OH NO NOT THIS PART." Even the Favor Questline for the Great Goron's Sword can be fun if you try to optimize routes.

All of Village past the castle is that moment
>>
>>732321345
tag?
>>
>>732321606
isn't it possible to just uninstall that

>Even the Gerudo Desert isn't THAT bad once you realize you can "cheese it" by following the flag poles.
What? That's literally what you're supposed to do.
>>
>>732322014
Wrong, you are supposed to use the Lens of Truth and follow a Poe.

You summed up why I hate 7 and 8 on replays. Say what you will about 5 & 6, but none of them have a "that part" that sucks the joy out of you replaying them.

its like a 10 minute section tops on replays when you know what your doing. I get not liking it but there is FAR worse out there.

Thats ad hominem, my homosexual friend. A better example for wasted time would be Ironwood from GoW Ragnarok

RE4 ashley segment
the swimming section of MGS2
the pre-heist quests in Cyberpunk (too scripted and boring even by c2077 main quest standards)
the dragon QTEs in the opening of Witcher 2
ocarina of time water temple (not actually horrible but i anticipate it being awful every time.)
>>732321542
not to mention fuckers casting that hadar spell all the time.
>>
>>732321327
>unenjoyable slog
That's just all of RE7 and 8.

Clock Tower, anyone?
>>
>>732324273
i forgot one, Goto's space yacht in KOTOR2
>>
do devs just not play their own games? Most games have this problem.
>>
>>732324460
they do these sections so we get slop videos like TOP STREAMER REACTIONS TO HOUSE BENEVITO BABY
>>
>>732321327
What is this and why is it tedious? I never plqyed the game
>>
>>732324709
Scripted "scary" section where you lose all your weapons and a giant baby follows you around, only it's apparent to anyone who's played something like dead space which has tethered necromorph AI that the baby in RE8 also has tethered AI and will always spawn adjacent to where you enter/exit and won't ever touch you in 2 of the 5 rooms.

Daddy...
>>
>>732324709
I recall reading an article that was titled along the lines of "game devs can't even tell if their game is still fun anymore", due to the fragmented and chaotic nature of game development with constant reiteration until you hope the final product comes out coherent.

Cyan's dream in FF6. It's entirely optional, but it's still annoying.
>>
>>732322029
You follow the flagpoles through the first half, then you meet the Poe at the midpoint and follow it for the second half.
You still don't have to use the lens of truth though, as it's possible to just memorize the path through the desert

Any forced minigame section in Kamiya's games
>>
>>732321327
Similar idea. Game suddenly becomes le horror and scary and it was cool at first but turned out to be an unenjoyable slog on repeat playthroughs.

Any unskippable tutorial or long introduction.

Why you gotta fucking lie like this? Come on, dude. Are you trying to save fucking face or something?

Deep roads in dragon age origins, mage tower dreams were pretty slougish too after first time
Tutorial labyrinth in pathfinder wotr(but it became slog only like after trying and finishing it with 20 different characters)
Sewers and final levels of vtmb(can't believe that kids these days say that shit was fine, without even playing it)
>>
>>732325336
That was my first post in the thread. I was just saying that following the flagpoles is the intended solution for the puzzle, and the Poe / lens of truth section doesn't come until after. Obviously you wouldn't be able to skip the lens without prior knowledge

Okami. The entire beginning that's just a long-ass tutorial.
>>
>>732325381
>Deep roads in dragon age origins, mage tower dreams
the fade is really tedious but i like the deep roads because the endless combat really fits the lore
>Tutorial labyrinth in pathfinder wotr(but it became slog only like after trying and finishing it with 20 different characters)
i still enjoy it desu
>Sewers and final levels of vtmb(can't believe that kids these days say that shit was fine, without even playing it)

sure I love having to babysit Sheela and for all my counter on staggered enemies to get fucked because the dumb bitch is firing her gun at them before I can reach them and do a counter.
Fuck anything past resident evil 4, fuck crapcom, fuck you.

How come most great games have a “THAT part”?

It’s almost as if the game designers decide to become retarded for one section before returning back to normal.
>>
>>732321327
That whole section in Mass Effect 3 after the main menu.
