Otherwise I did no damage, no ki damage, and it took me a few tries to wear him down. Deflecting his stupid judgment cut insta exhausted him and that’s how I ended up killing him. Meanwhile, I killed that guy in five seconds using Odachi on my first dude. Im not sure I see the hype and I didn’t see any skill that really stood out to me.

Throw and close the distance, hit a nice hatchet combo, swap to sam while close, block and keep hitting, and when I want to back off or the boss makes distance, back to ninja. Really fun once I got the hang of it with the Bloodedge demon. That boss has equal amounts of close range combos and "get off me" AoE moves, so swapping made perfect sense. I hope this is a sign of what the rest of the game has in store. I will bitch about the forward+triangle being a bit iffy at times. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesnt. Most likely a "me" issue and not the game, but still frustrating with how often I heavy attack instead of use the skill. Also RIP Kusarigama my beloved. It feels hollow now. Too many moves locked to the same input, and I was pretty reliant on all 3 stances various moves, like low dodge light and, ofc, high heavy.

I sincerely hope there are multiple NG+ cycles because the changes to enemies most likely will be power crept by grace set bonuses on a single NG cycle. There needs to be a satisfying mid-game before DLCs introduce fully realized encounters, otherwise discussion for the next year will just be, "well, the game isn't difficult yet but you should wait until Dream of the Nioh before you complain."
