For the game being "open world" it sure feels like it's just a set of mission areas from Nioh 2 stitched together. So far only the first area from the demo felt even remotely close to open world and everything else is mostly branching corridors. Not saying it's a bad thing, but when a big selling thing of the game being open world it does come off as odd when it's clearly not that thing.

This game is waaaaay too bright and it's not a settings thing. There's this persistent fog and shiny bloom like effect. Anyone found a way around that?Also I'm still on the first map but the balance is completely fucked. I am genuinely bored with how easy enemies are. They melt in two hits. Ninja mode isn't too bad, but it's not really worth sacrificing stances for its weapo s. If hanzo can go around with a spear while calling himself a ninja, there'a no reason not to have a ninja spear. At this point, there's too much overlap between ninja weapons and their previous forms to justify having Tonfa, splitstaff and hatchets as samurai weapons again. I think they really fucked up by making directional inputs the default scheme. Instead, they should have used the previous games' scheme (the superior way to play for nioh chads) and reserved directional inputs on ninja mode to do different finishers after light or heavy attacks. Last thing and I'll say it again, they really need to allow me to switch genders with samurai/ninja mode.

Anyways N3 still has some issues which will probably improve across the DLCs since TN does patch performance over time; they even did it for Jack's game which was DoA on Steam.

Doesn't help that bosses tend to have a bunch of very similar looking attacks with different delay in them. Kind of like dark souls in that regard.But in terms of "challenge" its very much the same experience all the way through. Yet to find a boss which isn't just memorizing attack patterns and then using deflect. What you do outside of the deflect seems to not matter very much.
