In my experience as a codemonkey AI can do a lot of programming stuff.But that alone isn't going to revolutionize games, because it just lets you make the same games cheaper.The places where it can be a gamechanger imo are 1) Voice actingIf AI can voice games cheaply, with different voices that pass for an ok voice actor it's going to mean voiceacting for many games that didn't use to be able to afford it.It also means that you're going to be able to structure development differently, because VA could happen the way compilation happens, after you're done writing all the code (voicelines).You could have the server farm work through the script on the weekend rather than having to account for when VA can record.2) NPC interactionsYou could have the AI hooked up to the NPCs so they talk with the player in more flexible manner. If you can limit this to talking or it could be used for hostility or for how they fight.The problem with this is the AI halucinating and that it may go off the plot, it also risks the same characters being different in different players games.Also if the backend of this isn't a local AI it makes the game online only and may introduce lag. Which is a bad model.
