Cant say. I didn't vibe with arbites but the class makes the game very easy whereas hive scum is hard to play at higher difficulties but is more rewarding. I've only played as hive scum since they've released it.

They both are depending on what you want.

Arbites is basically better Ogryn, with a dog and weapons that don't suck.

Scum is zippy and can shit out damage in both ranged and melee but it dies easily if you're not good at dodging because it doesn't have a shitload of passive damage resistance like everyone else.

nurgle is the only feasible faction that can fit into darktides setting
think about it, the whole deal is we're playing as rejects, literal whos in the grand scheme who are basically on janitor duty, we're cleaning up the basements, doing the lowest tier labour no one else cares for

so what faction could be our focus? the faction mostly comprised of rotting, half dead and barely lucid cultists, nurglite creatures that literally explode when lightly whacked, and nurgle's faction lends itself to the "hordes and hordes of disposable fodder" darktide is all about. The humanoid enemies are all infested with nurgles blessings and arent actually made for fighting, they throw tox bombs, they spew flame throwers but close quarters theyre fall apart because end of the day its a guy held together by disease and pus


fucking imagine a level based on khorn or slaanesh, we walk in, see a single khornate cultist, its not some half dead dude with super aids, its a jacked as fuck guy with twin axes whos just got done with his regular 50 hour training session before we landed in his ship, its a ravager on trenbolone , and theres 6000000 of the same guy copy pasted throughout the entire level
and plague ogryn is just a fatass monster, a khornate ogryn?
it would pick up our ogryn charactrer and break him over its back, then turn to the rest of the time and chimp the fuck out
slaaneshi too, we'd load into the level and literally get speed blitzed by slaneeshi cultists who are high on cum and moving at the speed of sound

what you need to realise is that unlike nurgle, khorne and slaneesh directly feed into fighting, theyre tailored to kill a motherfucker up close, not via disease or tox grenades etc like nurgle, we would be raped to fucking deah on a slaaneshi spawn's barbed cock if it got onto the mourningstar

and obviously no ones asking for tzneentch, the most basic mob from space marines 2 would decimate a geared darktide squad

No. It's not easier to fight Nurgle. Nurgle would be more difficult to fight since he pulls necromancy zombie stuff inaddition to diseases and extreme endurance. Each of the chaos gods have their pros and cons. If anything Khorne is the easiest to fight since their bloodlust blinds them so much that they can be outsmarted.

I bet the way they made maps for Darktide is actually much more work and harder, than multiple distinct and different maps in ratlckick. Devs need to take into account how all mission levels are placed in this mega map, in relation to each other, overlap portions visibility, asset reuse, changing something in one place affects everything else, balance, performance, etc.. That's why all newer levels are a separate self contained zones.

The real reason Nurgle makes sense is because he's the one that uses unwilling poxwalkers that lack the impossible durability and brutish mass that his actual acolytes employ.
Other Chaos gods would have cultists of similar strength to the ones you see in Darktide, but you'd lose almost all of the fodder. The other thing that's completely glossed over is how the rejects are completely immune to Nurgle's plagues regardless of how much muck and scum they're literally bathed in, or whatever fucked up slug they're eaten by.

Yes. Arbites is a very good crowd controller. Not as good as ogryn, but easily deals more damage and has dog. Cum is super squishy and more agile than zealot, gets infinite ammo and exclusive op chemtox dot. Does drugs and can pass the blunt to the party.
