The people who recommend OLED are also the people who recommend shit like filmmaker mode on TVs which look like complete ass and is desaturated as fuck. If you buy OLED get the colourful one which is the Samsung. Otherwise basically any modern mini-led gives you way brighter and punchier colours which is what you'd want and expect to get when you buy something new. Stop listening to people who use words and terms like "reference" and "creators intent".
It looks nice, but then you have to auto hide task bar, you have to set the wallpaper to black, but windows leaves a 1px line of the task bar when auto hidden so you need more software to toggle the taskbar off completely. You don't use the monitor for anything but full screen media so you do all your web browsing on a second monitor so you aren't even using it the majority of the time anyway

I bought a Mini LED TV and Mini LED Monitor and have them both connected to my PC. It's good enough. The black smear on the TV isn't great, though. If it looks too bad I just use my monitor which almost has none.
The best thing about owning an OLED is not the extreme planned obsolescence but the text color fringing which makes using it for anything other than watching slop almost impossible.

I refrained from getting an oled 4k cause burn in scare tactics got me, and i regret it. I binge game on my days off but i work a lot so i leave my pc off, realistically burn in would never happen on my setup
