Early years of WoW you could lure high level NPCs and hard hitting enemies to areas with low level players and murder everyone in the area. I would kite the NPCs from the opposing faction's base in Hellfire Peninsula to my factions base and they would get into fights with the other NPCs and cast AoE that would murder all the low levels that tried to fight back.

Early days of age of conan there was collision of players. You had a crouch ability that let you move through players. Most players were not aware of this ability. When you had a horse mount you could for example park it over a bridge leaving a small gap behind your horse for letting people through, and when people tried to move past you, you could kick them off the bridge with your horse which would kill them. Worked with and without pvp enabled.
