CC is essentially the same as RPD from RE2 or Mansion from RE1. First time you are going back and forth not knowing what to do , on subsequent playthroughs you start to optimize your path. Of course there is path optimization, of course there is more than one path. Once you unlock the east wing the whole CC becomes your playground.

RE7 took about 15 months to reach 5 million sales and has sold a little over a million each year after it's release. RE9 sold 5 million in 5 days. Peak steam concurrent players was more than double that of RE7. We'll have to compare them in a few years to determine success, but RE9 is a pretty good bet, and it's initial release has been significantly more successful and it's not even close.
