Silent Hill games aren't supposed to be "replayable". The gameplay isn't good unlike Resident Evil. There is no real survival horror resource management or anything. Most people play it once for the story and never touch it again. Making the first playthrough longer is a good thing.

And SH2 was literally one of the big-3 flagship titles of the Playstation 2, alongside with MGS2 and FFX. The amount of literal normalfags with little to do with gaming, who state SH2 to be one of their biggest inspirations, is staggering.

Silent HIll F was pretty good at atmosphere and the story was interesting but man does the slow cumbersome melee combat get really fucking old. And they make you do SO FUCKING MUCH of it in the final sequence of the game. The combat burnt me out so badly that I couldn't play the 2nd playthrough.

Apparently it's exactly the same as Greatest Hits US. I still like PAL sometimes though. It's slower, by 17% which sometimes leads to animations just being slower than intended. But it's also 576p instead of 480p so if you're a nostalgiafag like me who prefer not changing any graphics when I emulate, it's cool to see the game look a bit sharper. Quite the opposite for me. I think they did a horrible job in remaking SH2, mostly because the OG is way too unique in every single aspect. It's a product of its time and at the same time it is a timeless work of art. That's why it's literally impossible to be remade. It would be like trying to remake the sixtine chapel. It's retarded to even consider the idea. The end result will always be something completely different that uses the OG SH2 as a superficial coat of external paint. For me, everything after SH4 is just fanfiction. It's the only honest approach you can have to the entire IP. And it allows you to tolerate the existence of anything not made by Team Silent. Hell, I'm not ashamed to say that I actually enjoy certain aspects of Origins and Homecoming. But it's just nonsensical to even consider them part of the same canon as the Team Silent games because their quality not only drops significantly but also changes in several ways. Fuck it.
