The skill tree is gated in sections (can't progress unless you beat certain bosses) but I can max out each section in 1 run. Runs are pretty quick at 20-30 minutes for each biome I've encountered. There are modifiers to make the game harder/easier (you can change them at will) but I don't think there are any rewards for that so I don't use them.Can't recommend dropping $70 for it if you don't have any throwaway money laying around, but if you do I say get it it's pretty fun.

Side grade to Returnal, several steps forward with more biomes, enemies, and bosses. Yet the weapons are less interesting, and the roguelite elements are even more "bleh". I think they can tweak it to be better for sure though. Even before finishing it I wonder how much replayability it has, and the big problem is the modifiers are super lame to tweak the early regions upward for your end-game proficiency. In Returnal you got currency per run to spend on shops, or some artifacts that gave you more damage for more money you had. If you died, its gone.In Saros, you get currency per run to spend on permanent upgrades. Yet end-game if you buy EVERYTHING, what is this currency for? Really could use an in-game shop so you have a choice of "make this run stronger via shop to beat the bosses, or get permanent upgrades but maybe too weak to continue further". I like how alt-fire worked in Returnal more, each weapon type would have a pool of alt-fire modifiers and you would want X weapon with Y alt fire plus random mods. In this, each variant of a weapon type will ALWAYS have a specific alt-fire. Combined with just less interesting weapons, it feels kinda lackluster.

Returnal's story wasn't amazing, I enjoyed it well enough but yeah at the end of the day it was "all a dream" kinda. Except when I got to the boss, it was just fucking ass. The annihilator shotgun is okay for bosses just because the grenade launcher though, but really they just do not fit in with how this game plays. Losing Adrenaline because you went in for more pellets to hit is not worth it.

If it's anything like Returnal, it is a solid 9/10. Not quite Souls but very fun and challenging. Had they released it on PC, I might have bought it and editted the jeet out with a mod but they decided not to do that so fuck them, not playing this shit.
